Planning on taking the family for Family Day at Monster Park. Probably drive up Friday and check in a hotel. Anyone have any recommendatiions on what hotel to check into around Monster Park. Not familiar with the area, usually stay in Pinole with friends family. Or even a hotel in other city which won't be that far.

If you don't want to stay downtown, I recommend any of the airport hotels. You will get a decent rate, 10 minutes from the stadium and it's safe.

Embassy Suites SFO Airport should have a weekend special including full breakfast.

Took the words out of my mouth. That is where I am staying in December when I fly out for the Vikings game.

I believe it is still the hotel for the 49er fan club. I have stayed there a few times in the past. The 1st time was just by accident. I woke up and went down to the lobby and BOOM they had a 49er sports store w/ merchanise for sale. Not sure if they are still doing that as it has been a couple years since I have stayed there. La Quinta right there is also nice.

So. Airport Blvd. exit has several hotels reasonably priced just a few miles south of the Stick.

Not every area around Candlestick would be considered a destination haven!
