Jay, I'm marking your words...literally, I'm saving this quote on my computer. Come December, we'll either be giving you props, or making you eat your words.

Now THERE is a man with a sense of humor. Good stuff. :cool2:
I'm actually a little irritated that we let him go. We drafted a punter that's supposed to be the shiz-nit but I'd sure like to see him compete for it rather than just hand it to him.
I was going to ask what caused him to be released.
I don't recall the Hawks having problems with punting last season, they went all the way to the Super Bowl afterall.

Really? Who's gonna finish fourth? :whistling:
Either us or the rams depending on the play of smith.

So the Rams will finish either 2nd or 4th but no way they'll finish third. Ah yes. That makes a ton of sense. Tell me, did you buy into the "Cardinals are Gods!!" hype last year too? How about the year before? Just curious...
The Cardinals will be the Cardinals until proven otherwise.

No, I didn't and why would you assume as much? I also don't buy into the "well the seahawks went to the SB so they're the best in the NFC until proven otherwise" theory either......imo, that type of thinking is just an excuse for not making a real prediction (like most "analysts").
The cards had a solid offense and defense last year and are even better this year....they've had another year to digest green's system and green has proven that he is one of the best regular season coaches to ever coach.
I didn't care for the seahawks last year...I think they got all the right bounces and their O-line played terrific as a unit (which won't be the case this year, though they'll still be good). Everyone will be gunning for them and every game will be like a playoff game...they will either suffer some tough injuries or lose several close games because teams will over-achieve on them.
Just because I say the cards will win the west doesn't make them "gods", they are simply the best team in a weak division whose only real challenge will have a difficult season.
BTW, I don't think either the rams or the 9ers can win more games than the cards atm..the hawks could if everything goes their way again, but I highly doubt it will. The rams could finish second if they can sweep us, which is possible, but we could take 2nd if we sweep them and steal one from the hawks.
In general, I think the division will be close and the difference between 2nd and 4th could be one on one tie breakers.

Funny post. You ask me "Why I assume" something and then go on to tell me your fantastic prediction of how the division will go.
Since when did reading from an imaginary crystal ball make more sense than an assumption? Food for thought...
WTH are you talking about? I made a prediction, as many here do, and I backed it up with MY reasoning and you cried because I didn't say your team was #1 and "assumed" I am some kind of closet arizona fan. I don't like arizona and I could care less whether they win or not.
P.S. - I also said MY team may finish 4th, and you don't see me crying about it or throwing out conspiracy theories...do you?
IMO, grow a pair and deal...your team had its shot last year and likely won't have the same opportunities this year. Of course I could do the easy thing and say, "well they were #1 in the NFC last year, so I'll "predict" they will be #1 this year"....that would take a lot of effort and foresight /sigh.

I see you and Jay arguing post after post in this thread.

Jay, this might surprise you but I don't think I ever remotely implied that your opinion was worth a hill of shyt, much less "cried" about it. You mistook my question as genuine interest when it was really just my way of laughin' at you. My apologies if the mix up was my fault.
:tung:
I actually agree with Jay's opinion also and I kind of think the same way. The past has been that the runner up from the previous years Superbowl has not made the playoffs the following year. Plus SA is on the cover of Madden so you got double trouble. If I was Shawn I would where my football gear to the grocery store and everywhere else I went for fear of injury.

No reason to argue with you...you started this and seemed, somewhat, agitated by my predictions. Now you're just starting to sound childish with the back-pedaling.
BTW, people who "don't care" tend not to respond three times...you may want to reread this thread, but, if I'm not mistaken, you responded to me first. IMO, you're the one worrying about it; I could care less.

Hey I never said it was logic. Just a superstition that has held up for quite a while. :cowboy:

And I'm pretty sure most all Niner fans are hoping that tradition will continue this year.

Seahawks | Team finishes second in voting for two awards
Sat, 24 Jun 2006 11:11:51 -0700
Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks finished second in two of the four league-oriented awards handed out by the Pro Football Writers of America. Head coach Mike Holmgren finished second for the Horrigan Award for media cooperation by a non-player. The team finished second in voting for the Rozelle Award for public relations excellence in dealing with the media.
It's a good sign, they're finishing second again! It's looking good for the 49ers already!
