Bad move in my opinion. You already have two quarterbacks with question marks on the roster. You don't need another one that's going to cost a hefty price. I say let Leftwich play out the rest of his contract. If things don't work out, then perhaps they should consider drafting a quarterback for the future.

the whole QB situation is what is holding this team back...and by bringing in Culpepper just makes it worse...Leftwich will not be back to JAX after this season IMO...

if he does have a good season, the only reason he'd stay is cause of the "Franchise Tag"...if im Leftwich, i want nothing to do with JAX anymore...

I think there is some fustration in Jacksonville that both their QBs are decent, but not good, as both strugle with consistancy.
But so does Culpepper, and I don't see him being an upgrade, just more of the same thing.

I think Leftwich is consistant.......just injury prone like nobody's business. The man is made of glass.
Garrard is the inconsistant one. Playing great at times and miserable at other times.

Which is being inconsistant in his being able to play. Which is pretty much what I meant. Culpepper is no upgrade, given he hasn't been healthy in two years.

I really don't understand this at all.
If a team is interested, it should be the Lions, Raiders, Bears, or Vikings.
The Jaguars really just need to start over at the QB position. Leftwich isn't doing anything, Garrard sucks, and Daunte isn't healthy. Culpepper is my pick of the three though.
They really just need to draft someone new though.

Leftwich is about the most boring *** QB you'll ever see in your entire life. I hate watching Jax games.

The Jags wanted to draft Quinn, but the Browns jumped in front of them and beat them to the punch. I hear Quinn has looked less than stellar in Cleveland thus far, but it is early in the off-season. I have to say that I think Culpepper is an upgrade over Leftwich and Gerrard, but only if he is healthy. Before his injury his numbers were right up there with Payton Manning's, but who knows what kind of QB he'll be when he is finally healthy enough to play again?

^ Everyone knows Culpepper was nothing without Moss. Pep was just a giant who could throw the ball 70+ yards. He benefited from playing in a pass happy system and having Randy Moss catch his duck passes throughout his carrer. Pep hasn't been healthy since Oct. 2005, and his injury looks to be carrer ending. Pep was never a great QB, healthy or not and is most likely finished in the NFL. Saying he was right up there with Peyton Manning is straight up ludicrous. Leftwich and Garrard are both both better QBs at this point in time and that is not going to change anytime soon !

Moss only had 49 catches that year. Culpepper played great that year. He even made Nate Burleson, 68 catches 1006 yards 9 TDs look good. So good, they had enough confidence in him to make him their #1 the following year which was a huge mistake.
Plus, they didnt even have a consistent starting RB. Culpepper was that offense like it or not.

Culpepper was westbound in a Chevrolet Caprice when he collided with an unidentified driver in a Chevy Avalanche. Both vehicles rolled off the roadway. It is not yet known which hand Culpepper injured.

Except for the fact that out of those 49 catches, 13 of them went for touchdowns. Everyone knows most of Pep's TD's came early in the year anyways (18 TD's in the first 5 games). So no, Culpepper was not that offense, like it or not !

Thats what Moss does - he catches TDs and he hauled in 13 that year. Pep still managed to throw 26 TDs to guys like Marcus Robinson, Nate Burleson, Michael Bennett, Onterio Smith and Mewelde Moore. None of whom are impact players 3 years later.
Moss wasnt even trying that year, he went hard for the deep ball but thats it.

Everyone wants to write off Pep as a one year fluke (he had 3-4 good years IMO) and say, well it was Moss! But thats far from the truth.
Pep's problem has been the o-line in MIA and MIN were awful. When he has a good line he can destroy most secondaries but any pressure and he scrambles which usally lead to his INTs and Fumbles.
In 04 the Vikes line was very strong. If he has some WRs who can get downfield and a line who can protect, hes a very good QB.
Lets not forget he would have won MVP had it not been for Mannings 45 TD year.

Manning threw for 49 touchdowns in 2004.
Anyways, I tend to disagree. I believe Pep had 3 good seasons ('00, '03, '04) out of his 8 years in the league, all in which he benefited from having Randy Moss. He was never a great QB IMO, and I believe he was a fluke. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

Of course he benefitted from Randy Moss; what QB wouldn't ? Every QB except a couple has had excellent WR's to rely on.
Out of his 39 TD passes, only 13 were to Moss.... meaning that even WITHOUT Moss, he has a 26 TD, 10 INt year, which in most years would still be close to tops in the league.
He hasn't been in the league THAT long, you can't hold a QB's rookie year against him, and he's been hurt the last 2 years, as well. The year before he had 5 awful games before blowing his knee out; when you take 3 excellent seasons at the helm of one of the leagues most potent offenses vs. 5 bad games, the pro's out-weigh the cons by a ton.
This is all just a matter of opinion, and you got yours. But the facts remain that there is far more evidence in his defense than there is against him.
*For ****s and giggles... with Culpepper, Moss was highly regarded as the best in the game; within the last year, only 2 years removed from Pep, his name has been said in the same sentence as "washed up" and "lost a step" quite a few times.

Though I agree with your assessment of his skill, I have to disagree with you about the o-line in MIN. That was a decent/pretty good o-line up there, with Birk making the Pro-bowl, and the core of the line having been together for awhile. But, you're right about the line in MIA, that is a terrible group of back-up's, capable of making any QB look bad.

As a matter of fact I believe that Moss kept suiting up to keep his consecutive games played/started streak intact. Then he would just stand on the line of scrimmage like a jack*** and come out of the game. Pep did have a solid year despite this fact.
