Enjoy the sunshine while you can, Chuck! The first time you get a shoulder stinger in -3 below weather, you're going to wish you were back in Oakland!

Wander how this changes their draft board? Is AJ Hawk still a priority with Favre returning, and the signing of Woodson?
Or have they positioned themselves into feeling VD is a better pick? Give Favre a nasty little target for his last season as a Packer and Rogers a toy for the future?
IMO I think that VD may be a cheesehead come Sat.

If they expect Bubba Franks to return healthy, picking Davis would be one of their dumber moves. While he hasn't lived up to his billing, he certainly takes drafting a TE off of the list of priorities.

Davis will be a 49ers. Get over it. Hawk is a cheesehead and Davis a Gold "Duke". Go Niners!:clapping:
geez talk about overpaying a player... looks like the postons finnally did good for a client of theirs. at least they got woodson, instead of arrington. so this shouldnt affect their draft plans.

EJ is supposed to be healthy and we are most likely picking up another TE.

It says he has not even signed the deal yet! Could be a trash story. If not, good for them.

That's a lot of money to be a washed up CB that's a year and a few pounds from being a safety. But the Packers had a **** good pass D last year so maybe they know something we don't.

I'm sure like most big money deals, the contract is very back loaded with money the Packers will never pay, making the contract appear larger than it is.
But $10 in signing bonus & 1st year salary is just stupid for a player who hasn't played a full season in over 2 years.
Maybe this was the type of impact FA signing Farve demanded of the Packers? :fishing:
Either way, I'm glad to see the Pack making dumb moves.

same can be said for SF regarding EJ....but with Javon all but gone and Favre the way he is i'd assume offense is the way they pick unless they can manage a trade for a decent WR and stay in the first round to shut up favre...
Exactly my sentiments...
If Walker is gone and with Franks proness to injury Davis is their best pick for Favre this season and Rodgers future...
I don't like it because I want Davis in Red N Gold but I think Davis has a very STRONG chance of going to GB with Favre's decision to return...

Even if the contract is back loaded.... 10 million for 1 season for a guy that has been injured for past 2 seasons is just not a good idea... If he was healthy in his 3rd year then probably a good pickup... But now you are dealing with a guy who has a injury history....is it going to get any better in the cold weather? Also... how much does he care about football after all the money he has made?
kiper jr. will have to change his shorts if VD goes at #5 to the pack

It is really a 3 year 18 Million dollar deal and he can be cut whenever. There will be no cap hit since there is no signing bonus. Since he will be paid 10.5 mil the first year, he will get 7.5 million over the following 2 years, or 3.75 million a year. He will be a bargin then, or worst case scenerio he plays poor, we just cut him. This signing just gets better and better.
So we won it on our end :stirthepot:

if the pack need a WR they just might trade down with denver because that's the area chad jackson/johnson? and holmes is supposed to go. but that's jes a thought...
