I'd like to see a stadium that incorporates the 49er "atmospere." The concourses and concesion stands could resemble a mining village or an old ghost town. A large water wheel high in the corner of the stadium. Sourdough Saloon. . . .

What do you guys think? Just an idea.

Yeah, that would take at least three weeks to get old. We're going to have the new stadium for 20+ years, lets make it right instead of going for gimmicks.

The San Jose Mercury News some months back mentioned connecting the Santa Clara Stadium & the Great America Theme Park with a roller coaster.We could also do a Forty-Niner Theme Park Roller Coaster.We could call the roller coaster "The Gold Rush".The coaster would be soaring through the Sierras through old mining towns like placerville.We could have miniture Forty-Niners chipping away for Gold along the Sierra Mines.We could have a mock up El Capitan & Half Dome.We could also have mock ups of Yosemite & Nevada Falls.The "Gold Rush" would be soaring under the water falls & eventually dip down in to a mock up of Lake Tahoe.This coaster would be similar to the Disneyland roller coaster "Thunder Mountain".I believe it was the Santa Clara City Manager that showed some interest in that idea.I brought it up at one of the City Of Santa Clara Council Meetings.

Okay, It doesn't have to be that cheesy. The Bucs Pirate Ship is still cool. I like when they hit the cannons after a TD. It can be done artfully I believe. I wouldn't want it to be a complete extension of Great America (unless GA opened the big checkbook). Get an oil/mineral type company to sponsor the park . . . Mobile Field?

remember one of the classic brady bunch episodes, the one where the whole family gets locked up in that old ghost town? well in that episode the man who played thurston howell III played an old prospector. lets say we can get a few people who look like that, get em all liquored up, and come out of a mock saloon inside the stadium, either fighting, yelling out YAHOOOOO YIPEEEE!!!, or firing off mock pistols, all carrying bags of gold. wow! that would be realistic! althought not very pc i'm afraid:dance3:

I'd like to see them incorporate aspects of Candlestick into the new design, specifically the exposed rusting pipes all along the ceiling of the lower concourse, the urinal troughs, and all of the Cal Trans orange paint.:hoppy:
