Roller Coaster Connecting The Stadium & Great America

The San Jose Mercury News some months back mentioned connecting the Santa Clara Stadium & the Great America Theme Park with a roller coaster.We could also do a Forty-Niner Theme Park Roller Coaster.We could call the roller coaster "Gold Rush".The coaster would be soaring through the Sierras through old mining towns like placerville.We could have miniture Forty-Niners chipping away for Gold along the Sierra Mines.We could have a mock up El Capitan & Half Dome.We could also have mock ups of Yosemite & Nevada Falls.The "Gold Rush" would be soaring under the water falls & eventually dip down in to a mock up of Lake Tahoe.This coaster would be similar to the Disneyland roller coaster "Thunder Mountain".I believe it was the Santa Clara City Manager that showed some interest in that idea.I brought it up at one of the City Of Santa Clara Council Meetings.

I'd be all over that, I love great america, and figure it would be a fun place to sober up after a game.

If you a roller coaster it for post game sobering up, its going to get renamed the "vomit comet".


Also, will someone PLEASE think of the tailgaters!! with all the space this ride would take up, the site would have like 5 parking spots and they'd be stacked on top of one another in a mini garage!!

Gold Rush sounds good.. but there is already a coaster at Six Flags with that name.. So it might need something more original. Great idea tho

How about extending the sky-car rides straight to the stadium? That wouldn't require too much of a footprint.

Sky-car rides would make access much easier for fans of Great America & the Niners.

I am not a radio guy for KGO. This was all done in fun at a Niner game.
