ESPN.com's Todd McShay reports the 49ers are "flat-out committed" to drafting Vernon Davis.

San Francisco reportedly turned down a lucrative trade from Denver to move into the No. 6 spot. Alex Smith needs offensive weapons and Davis would certainly fit. Eric Johnson would be superfluous. Apr. 26 - 4:25 pm et

I find this ironic because there is a whole different thread (currently right next to this one, though it'll move no doubt) that says if it was Hawk & Davis, the 49ers would go with Hawk...

Which means, nobody knows.

At this point, half of what you read is conjecture and the other half is a guess.

If you're thinking that "conjecture" and "a guess" are the same thing, then pat yourself on the back because you get it.

With the 6th pick we could take AJ Hawk and Vernon Davis if they really cant decide which one to get.

ESPN? Why in the world would you listen, never mind believing, to ESPN? They're the most ill-informed, 49er hating organization on the planet. They want us to appear bumbling and incompetent and losers.

If you're good will hunting, don't go to them...

Alot of us have our personal choices, Davis or Hawk.

In all reality all of us will be happy with either pick. This draft isn't going to make us a SuperBowl contender this year but will make the future brighter sooner.

I want Davis but will be just as happy with Hawk, and I'm sure the Hawk wanters feel the same if it goes the other way.

Either way come saturday we're going to have one heck of a stud next season.

Theres to much disinformation out there.
No one would let out who Nolan wants regardless.
We just have to sweat it out.

the reason I think we turned down the trade is because we are in a perfect position. 2 first round picks....and sitting at 5....we get either Hawk, Davis or worst case senario.....D'brick. I like where we sit right now
