Falcons first pick next year?

If Vick is proven to be guilty or even if he is innocent what do you think the Falcons will do with him? I don't think he will end up playing much if at all this year and I don't think he will be a Falcon after this year... I think the Falcons will end up having a bad year and end up with a really high draft pick in the 2008 draft. What I'm getting at is...

Do you think that there is anyway that Bobby Petrino will take his former QB at Louisville, Brian Brohm???

it really depends on how harrington does and how far bhrom will fall but ya that could be a possibility but right now everything is not sorted out so its hard to tell

There where rumors that that was Petrino's intention when they traded Shaub to Houston and recieved there 2nd next year, to have more ammo so to speak to go up if they needed to.

I think that it's a strong possibility since Vick mostly likely (innocent or guilty) will never play for the falcons again. Harrington is not the answer. Brohm would be a great option b/c he could sit for the first half of the year since harrington is under contract for 2 years. Then play the second half of the season.

That would be great for Brohm too, b/c his learning curve would be a lot faster than most #1 picks since he would already know the system, he is a senior, and is a pocket QB used to passing and reading defenses.

If the Falcons are bad enough with Harrington under center, which is very possible given Harrington's history, I'd say they would definitley go after him. That being said, let's hypothetically say that the Buccaneers are the worst team this year (not saying it's happening-just for the sake of debating).

They have a lot of QBs on the roster but the current starter is Jeff Garcia. Garcia is up in age and even if he has a good year, is not in the future plans. Bruce Gradkowski has game experience, but I don't see him as anything more than a backup. Chris Simms had a good run in 2005 but even before the spleen removal he was struggling. If they are doing that bad, Gruden would be certain to have given him a shot.

Now, why would they pass up on Brohm at 1? Sure they could use Jake Long, amongst others but at 1?

Is Brohm really top 10 material? I remember him being shaken during that showdown with Rutgers in the 2nd half, he couldn't do nothing.

I dont see Brohm as a top 10 guy, certainly not #1 overall, maybe he lights it up this season and changes that but there are 4-5 STUDS comming out next year that make much more sense for that team.

Dorsey and Long IMO would help the team more.

There is an excellent chance of that, but we gotta see how the rest of the QB's play this year. Next years draft is gonna be a dope year for QB's when you got Colt Brennan, Brian Brohm, and John David Booty all coming out, guys who can all be excellent pro's.

I'm talking about last year, not next year when the QB class will be deeper.

Last year, he was rated above every other QB who was drafted.

Kind of like had Leinart come out a year earlier than he did, we would have taken him over Smith without hesitation that year.

I didnt see one expert, reporter or any one of the sort making the claim Brohm was a higher rated prospect than those two. Maybe though i'm not that deeply read in NCAA, i certainly would not have put him there.

I think his main issue will be the change in coaches, I see him regressing a bit and it hurting his stock come draft day much like Lienart his last year.
