With all the controversy surrounding the location of the new stadium, I have a few questions:

1) Where will it most likely end up?

2) When do you think the location will be decided?

3) Is there any chance the 49ers could go to Los Angeles?

Thanks.

1) No one can answer this at the moment with any idea of certainty. It's possible it could be built in Santa Clara but whether or not the proposal will even survive past September remains to be seen. It's possibly and so far in our favor but nothing is set in stone yet.

2) A lot longer from now than you'd prefer. The team won't even be able to say the stadium will be built in Santa Clara for at least 6-8 more months, minimum. If Santa Clara decides against it at any point, it could then easily be another year or two from that time before a new location is fully researched and accepted.

3) It's possible but far from likely. If Santa Clara falls through and the best available site is Hunter's Point, then the team may consider leaving the bay area. Greater LA is attractive to any owner.

#3. If that were to happen I would like something near the Sacramento Airport just because there is a lot of land, close to I-5, I-80, Hwy's 99 and 50. Similar access to hotels, dining, and other entertainment as the current location without the low-income neighborhood. Lots of open land to develope and adding connections to freeways could be done. Of course it would be an easy commute for me buy not so easy for others.

No matter where a stadium is, someone's going to have a drive.

A Sac move would force me to give up my seats. I can't drive 6 hours each way. A LA move may make me rethink my loyalties. I hope that doesn't happen.

Not in a million years. Sacramento would mean 2 hours less driving for me, but I still would not want to see the team move there. Sac is not a great sports town. Support for the Kings is fickle at best. The voters are not cooperative when it comes to sports teams. A new basketball arena on the site of the old rail yard would have done much to revitalize the downtown area. Let's face it. Nightlife in Sacramento leaves something to be desired. The voters shot it down though, and by a wide margin. I was kind of surprised by that. It really would have helped the city.

The main reason why this will never happen has everything to do with money. There's a lot more of it in the Bay Area, and that will equate to a lot more revenue for the team. The good seats in the new stadium are all going to have Builder's Seat Licenses attached to them. A lot fewer people in the valley are going to be cool with forking over $2,500/$5,000 per seat depending on location. Maybe a little less, but not much. The Bay Area is full of people who can throw down that much cash and never miss it.

I doubt the 49ers would ever move to Los Angeles.

Reasons

1. L.A. doesn't deserve a great team like the 49ers.

1. 49ers deserve to stay in the Bay area.

2. See reason 1.
