I post here often. This section of the MB gets busy next week when we are only one week away from football.

The SEC is the best conference.
USC looks like they'll be real good.
Florida is the defending champs.

Yes, well the NFL pre-season is pretty pointless for the most part. 4 weeks of mostly scrubs playing isn't that exciting. Is it great having football back? Sure, but I could care less about guys like Marcus Maxwell or Harvey Dahl etc.
At least with college pretty much everybody is in play any year unless they get kicked off the team for doing something stupid.

I'm a Bears fan, wouldn't surprise me if we lost to you. Longshore sucks vs any decent team. The only plus that I can see is that Tedford is calling plays again.

I love this forum and it might actually me my favorite one, ,but right now is the slow season. I love coming to this place during college football season and especially during the end of the regualr season and during the draft season when everyone is talking prospects and mock drafts.

Y'all will have a good season throwing the football. Running the ball could be a problem. But what is going to hirt Cal is no defensive pressure, if you give any good QB time to throw it they will make first downs and score touchdowns. If Cal give Ainge time to throw, he will keep that offense of Cal and that WR, who is going to give that young secondary of Tennessee problems, no time to answer. And Cal needs to find some way to keep Longshore off his back this game, that killed y'all in Knoxville.

Last year opening AT Tennessee was about the worst timing the team could have had. They had 4 new starters on the Oline, it was Longshore's 2nd career start (and game for that matter lol), a RS freshman starting at CB and we all saw the results.
Our run game will be fine. Forsett has the best rushing average of any returning RB in the NCAA. And we have some young freshmen behind him that are supposed to be good. Plus Tedford has had a 1,000 yard back for like the past 8 or 9 years or something.
Defensive line is definitely iffy at least at DE. DT's are solid. LB's look good but now CB is a big question mark again.

Yup, I just had a bad vibe going into that game as well. The Tim Mixon injury really didn't help anything at all. I don't know that Meachem breaks those long receptions with Mixon on the field.
I'm excited to see Jahvid Best get on the field. They're calling him Little Reggie in practice and they all say that he can beat DeSean Jackson in a race.

"I call him 'Little Bush,'" Jackson said.
Best has been a college football player for only 2-1/2 weeks, so it seems rather premature to start likening him to former USC star Reggie Bush, who won the Heisman in 2005. But there's no question the former Salesian High School standout has created quite a buzz during fall camp.
Best arguably has been the Bears' most exciting running back in camp, demonstrating explosiveness, quick lateral movement and speed in the open field. Senior Justin Forsett is Cal's undisputed starter, but it's apparent the Bears are going to try to find ways to get Best on the field.
"Two words come to mind -- Reggie Bush," said Cal linebacker Zack Follett, who has roomed with Best during the latter stages of training camp. "I'm glad he's on our team and I'm glad we got him. He's definitely a special talent. I know he's not redshirting with the skills he has."

Sweet I'm excited to seeing Best, he has sprinter speed, and supposedly it shows up on the field.

It should be more active now that college ball has started. I don't follow it as close as I do the NFL, but I like it for different reasons than I do the NFL. Now that the season has started my wife just said two hours ago as she was talking to her friend on the phone, "Well, what are your plans for the next six months because I seemed to have lost my husband."
