I'm the commish in a 10 team Keeper league and was just wondering if this would be a fair trade or if it is worth vetoing? I personally think it is ok but just wanted to get some other opinions from this Board.

Unless your talking about Gore and LJ Smith for LT I'd veto that trade

Can i ask reasons for the veto? Either way someone is going to have Gore & LJ on there team. Just gonna need some good arguements for the veto.

I think that's a legit trade. LJ is not going to even be a top 5 fantasy RB this year.

Gore and LJ? I smell some back scratching going on? That's shady.

Thats just speculation though. I think that LJ is going to have a down year but even if he only rushes for 1,400 yrds and 10 TD's(which would be a huge dropoff) he would still be getting the better end of the deal.

how did someone get Gore and LJ on the same team? both are top 5 picks. either way that trade is ridiculously unfair.

I say it is a good trade for both parties, if the one getting LT as a decent RB then he can afford to lose LJ and the mighty Gore. Then one getting two RB now has two solid RB. this is a fare trade. I ask why should it be vetoed. I would like facts not

While I don't agree with the trade there is no reason to veto this trade. Is this a keep league of some sort? The reason I ask is the owner of Gore and LJ might feel that neither of them are going anywhere this year. The chiefs offense has looked aweful and Gore is injured. Yes Gore is coming back but he is still injured. Take look at the rosters for both teams to see who is truelly receiving the better deal.

Two elite running backs for one. I don't see how that's fair. The 1st overall pick in most drafts traded for possibly the 2nd and 3rd overall picks. That's not too fair.
Before vetoing it, check out both team rosters to see if the guy trading Gore and LJ has other solid running backs.

projections/3yr avg . Gore 194/156 LJ 234/258 LT 312/324
This is a good trade the only way I can see you vetoing it is if you do not want to have trades at all, because you are not going to have one point for one point trades every time.

so 2 of the top 5 RBs in the league for the top RB is fair?

Does the player trading for LT have a third good RB (so he'd still have 2 starters).
If so, I don't know how you can justify vetoing. One guy is solidifying both starting spots, the other is getting the best player in FF. Balanced or no, both teams improve their starting lineups.

yep!!!
there is also bye weeks and personal belifes.
LT will not do agian what he did last year
Will gore
LJ already as fear about his future
The only way to see howfare the trade is wait till the end of the season.
BTW I got vetoed last year trading steve smith for Reggie Wayne I had three recivers with bye week so I needed someone, convently I played the comish that same week 1 WR short... I still won!!!!!!!!

As a commish, I think the best approach is just to ask whether there is a good faith belief from both players that they are improving their team.
After previous controversy, in the leagues I am commisioner for, I will now only veto a trade in the case of "loan a player" (someone trades a player they don't need for a week, then trades back, I would block the trade back) or player "dumping" (a non playoff team trading a big time player to a contending team). The rest of the trades get the rubber stamp.

This is a VERY loaded question you cant possibly obtain a response worthy of anything relevant with the info you gave.
What do the teams look like before and after the trade? How will it effect the competitive balace?
Personally i'd say there is no reason to veto it especially if it helps both teams. For instance if the LJ/Gore owner has a top notch third back (addai maroney....) and he WANTS to overpay for the surest thing in the game.
Its an overpayment by a ways, but to me that in no way means it should be veto'd

Basic League Rules:
it is PPR
start 2 RB
No Flex
only can carry 4 RB on a roster.
Rosters
Team 1
Gore
LJ
Jordan
Turner
Team 2
LT
Bush
T. Bell
B. Jacobs
so if the trade Went Through it would be
Team 1
LT
Jordan
Turner
(open RB spot prolly who ever Team 2 Drops)
Team 2
Gore
LJ
Bush
Jacobs/Bell
Thanks for the responses.
for thoughs wondering how someones has both Gore and LJ it is a league where you can keep 3 players from the previous season so last year when gore wasn't as highly ranked so he got to keep both these backs.

Given that info, if I was team one I definitely wouldn't do it, but that still doesn't necessarily mean that you should veto.

I'd OK it essentially it made BOTH teams worse, with no flex the team getting LJ and Gore cant use one each week with Bush in the mix (unless its M Bush of OAK). the team getting LT severely hurt his team as he has no reliable 2nd or 3rd back.
I'f i'm an owner I'm juicing at the box for this to go throu so I can take advantage of the LT owners lack or RB depth and steal a WR form him in a trade.
Thats just me, unless its certain collusion i would never veto a trade between two consenting owners.

Amen!
As a commish myself I hear this crap(mostly from my trades) and its so dumb. Everyone has the same internet and tv. No one tries to throw away their season so thats ridiculous. If they both agree I give credit to the guy who talked him into it.

Exactly, I've seen the veto arguments before, and it just causes bad feeling because it means you're telling the guy getting you see as ripped off how to run his team. And then its not really HIS team.
