I've had him at #2 for a while now. But, I also rank based on potential keepers and for high ceilings.

I got him at 2 as well...Heap, Gonzo, Shockey all have similar limits. Vernon could do worse but he is capable of 1000 Yards IMO, maybe not this season but i mean with his YAC ability

Because I don't like Shockey, and always have him on my ignore list for drafts, and Branch is just mid-tier. Davis has the potential to tear the league up.

It depends what kind of league you're in. My format is QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-WR/TE-K-D/ST ... so VD's value isn't really that high. I have him on my team and he's not even starting. Now, if you're in a league that requires a TE, then I say he holds some value. I'd probably have him ranked somewhere in the top 5 for TE's. I would say that any starting WR would probably hold more value then VD tho... simply becasue most TE's besides Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzales don't come close to 1000 yards. VD has potential, but I'd project him to be somewhere around 600-700 yards. So, like I said - it really depens what kind of format you run with.
