Me too! I have Marvin as my starter on all 3 of my fantasy teams. Nearly gave me a heart attack!

Tough hit for the Pats. They have the Chargers and the Bengals in the first four games. Could have really used him those games.

I don't like the Pats, so i haven't really been following them. Does anyone know if Meriweather has seen more action at Safety or CB this TC? I know they were talking about trying him out at corner, but have no clue if they actually tried it out.

Not good for the Pats. Seymour is on the PUP list.

Meriweather has seen a lot of action at CB this pre-season because of the Asante Samual situation. The last game against the Giants, he played safety the whole game. He was the only starter on the field after the half way point of the 1st quarter. Safety is his natural position so it shouldn't be that much of an adjustment. The Patriots haven't had Rodney for most of the season the past 2 years. They have shown that they can live without him (at least on a temprary basis) It will be addressed this up comming off-season. It's Rodney Harrisons last year of his contract, and is most likely retiring after this season.
There was a paper trail that led back to Harrison. That's why he just admitted it. (especially since thie Micheal Vick saga just happened). I'm sure you all have heard about this "Mother Load" internet steroid investigation. Cross your own fingers regaurding the 49ers 1st before start ripping Rodney. This investigation is looking to be huge. Both NFL and MLB......and it all got busted because of the WWE knuckle scrappers. All I can say to you 49er fans is..........Good luck and I hope it doesn't effect your team.

Although he has been injured the past couple of years I still think he is the leader of that D. It is a big blow to that secondary which has really been a weakness on occasion. Teams are going to be exploiting this early and often.

I will admit that. When Rodney isn't in the game, the D loses a little spark. Meriweather is being looked at as the "Next Rodney". He has made some good plays in the pre-season and has gotten a few nice hits in as well.

Just out of curiousity, how do you think your D-line will do with-out Seymore? I know Adalius is a super star but Seymore really holds down that line along with Wilfork.

Ty Warren also. I think Belichick will put Thomas on the line on occasion. Maybe blitz the OLB 2 or 3 more times a game as well. If Thomas is on the line then Vrable would go back to OLB then. There is no doubt that BB will have to shake things up a bit with Seymore's absence.

Thanks. Your defense can be so good when the team is healthy but that has been rare lately. Good luck to you guys on this upcoming season.
