...for DE Jason Babin. This is the weirdest trade I've ever heard. We had too many safeties but Jason Babin? Sounds like a swap of two guys that were gonna get cut. Honestly, I can't understand why we would want another DE. We've got Kerney, Fisher, Tapp, and (R) Baraka Atkins.

I don't get it but hey, I'm not runnin' the front office.

Was Boulware really that bad last season and or this preseason? I'd think the Seahawks would want more depth at the defensive back position.

Believe it or not, Safety is where we probably have the most depth. We brought in Brian Russell and Deon Grant as starters, plus we still have Mike Green (formerly of the Chicago Bears) and Jordan Babineaux who can play either spot. They're also pretty high on a rookie named C.J. Wallace who is an excellent special teamer.

And yes, Boulware was HORRIBLE last season. His confidence is shot. We lost at least three games SPECIFICALLY because he blew assignments and got beat deep (San Diego comes immediately to mind) and almost lost to the Rams when he let Holt make that circus catch behind him. This is a good opportunity for him to start over.

Yeah, but if you trade a player you were going to cut, you get exclusive rights to the other player for nothing. And sometimes it works out. Even if Jacobs doesn't catch more than a couple of dozen balls a year for the 49ers, he'd be doing more for us than Mike Rumph ever would...

Hey,... at least your team recognizes how important Pass Rush guys are.

Michael Boulware looked pretty impressive his rookie year, what happened ?

I think the Seahawks fan said it all.

They went out and got an exceptionally good FS. Grant plays a very stable center field back there and makes the plays and he's heading into the prime of a his career. Nothing is more deadly than a FS with lots of experience who is also still below the age of decline.

But Boulware was terrible last year. I remember Gore making a fool of him in the open field more than a few times.

That's the million dollar question. He was outstanding his rookie year making several game SAVING plays. But last year, man did he go from "great" to "goat". He absolutely KILLED us. Good kid though. I hope he gets his confidence back in Houston.

In another kind of weird move, we traded an undisclosed conditional draft pick to Jacksonville for Alvin Pearman. Was a hot name coming out of college but hasn't done jack in the NFL. Weird moves today for us.
