Navy at Rutgers is on right now.

Ray Rice just had a nice run for a TD. Showed great vision and pacients. His style reminds me a bit of Emmitt Smith.

I have a message to Navy....

It is time to change your offensive philosophy, it is old and people can figure out how to stop it easier now. Keep the package but use it less often. It is keeping top offensive recruits out of your program. I mean it doesn't help that you are the military at a time of war either. But changing would help a ton.

Navy has by far the best service football team, and have done pretty well with it the last couple of years...

well way back in the day - Navy and Army where the programs

not so anymore - but thats fine - i love watching the wishbone/wingt/flexbone option - and i dont think its dead - you get the right talent running it - you can still be a force

Nebraska went to the BCS game (and whipped by a superior miami team) running the option

It can work but the name of the game is copy what is hot - now everyone seems to run a spread option pass - hell everyone except michigan in the big ten has something like this

I'm going to jinx them but Fresno State came back against Texas A&M surprising me. The way they looked in the first half I thought they were done

EDIT: Well they lost, but coming back from 19-0 down at half at a place like College Station gives me more optimism than I had to start the year.

LSU are about a minute away from holding VT to a whole quarter with no 1st downs.

well, it's 14-0 first quarter, LSU are looking awesome all over. I think it's 3rd and 4 for LSU at the start of the second quarter, down on about the VA 15, if they score here, jebuus.

edit:
Oh it's 4th down, 17-0

VT haven't turned up. Or the rankings are way out of whack (see also: Michigan).

For those of you who enjoy watching fast, attacking defenses, turn on the Auburn game. We're getting after the QB again tonight.

Or I can just leave it on the LSU game:laugh:

Wow are they impressive.

Good call. We lost all intensity after half-time.

Our passing offense is a joke right now. Even when we protect Cox for 5 seconds he still finds a way to get sacked. :nonono:

Why is UCLA so much better than it was last year?

I know man, I had to go out and I just saw the score on ESPN's college Gameday. Surprised South Florida was able to pull it off.

I'm not really surprised. We looked shaky on offense last week, and USF is good team (looking at their schedule, they should win 10+ games).

Cox is shell-shocked or something, he looks like he doesn't know what to do with the football half the time.

We had receivers dropping easy balls, and Fannin laid it on the carpet twice after two missed FGs by Alvarado.

I enjoy watching nail biting games, but the silly stuff we did to ourselves gets frustrating. :pullhair:

Plus, Groves was in and out of the line-up with injuries, and for some reason, we felt it necessary to line him up on the strong side on most every down. I'm a little ticked with some of the play calling in this game. We got a running game going, and built momentum, then we pissed it away.

Well, good news for Auburn I guess is that nobody outside of LSU has looked great in the SEC. Even Florida has had a lot of defensive problems early to a couple bad opponents.

The SEC East can stink it up all it wants, but unless we pull ahead of LSU in the West, we've already lost the SEC. LSU was my preseason pick to run the table, and they haven't given me any reason to back off that prediction. They should be the #1 team, but wUsS-C will continue to hold onto it until someone shows us they really aren't as good as everyone thinks.

Auburn's schedule is rough, we'll be lucky to pull out 8 wins this year. I'm bracing for a long season. If Cox wasn't a senior, I'd wish we could go ahead with the Blake Field era, and see what he's capable of (I've done better with him on NCAA '08 than Cox ).

UGA caught a case of the dropsies again too. Not to take anything away from South Carolina, they just wanted the game more, especially there D, completely out physicalled UGA...

Pretty much everything that looked good the first weeks game looked bad in this weeks except for Knowshawn Moreno, that dude is going have a big time career.

I really like what I saw from him today. I put a circle around him on my roster sheets after today's performance. You guys got a good one there.

I agree, I think the days of UGAs three man equal shares RB rotation are a thing of the past, when Richt sits down Brown to let him play... Lumpkin might not return to the backfield when he comes back from his hand injury.

Or Oregon, Cal, or even Oregon St. You guys may be getting sloppy seconds, or thirds, or whatever by the time you get a hold of them.

I was present at the LSU-VT game. Even though this was a much more subdued crowd (particularly pre-game) with VT in town, there was an energy there with the fans and players that hasn't been felt in quite a while. I am so unbelievably proud of my boys that I really don't know what to say. A win Monday night would make this truly one of the best weeks I've had in quite a while.

Our defense did what it was supposed to do, only allowing 148 yards to a questionable VT O...but we put up 598 yards on VT?! 297 rushing and 301 passing?! I'm really amazed to be honest that we were able to pull out so much on offense. Lafell was very sharp on his routes, he looks to be the next great LSU WR. The RB-by-Committee running game is working, and our receivers (Doucet-Lafell-Tolliver-Holiday) are really clicking. Really high marks in a lot of areas.

I'm just really excited, it's been a fantastic day.

Bring on the Trojans :dance3:

And I feel for you Majesstik...War Eagle's going to get better, there's a lot of potential but the West is ours :fishing: Maybe if you're up to it we'll see you in Death Valley the 20th of October :viking:

the Texas Defense finally made an appearance and had a solid overall outing against a very good TCU team.

The offense is still rusty and I hate having McCoy in the zone read still.

Oklahoma's Lineman looked real good on both sides of the ball.

Should be a real good game in Dallas this year when they meet up.

And I like having OU as the higher ranked team.
