The Dallas Cowboys signed free-agent DT Tank Johnson to a two-year deal Tuesday, the NFL Network's Adam Schefter has reported.
Johnson, formerly of the Chicago Bears, is suspended for this season's first eight games and intends to apply for reinstatement in time to rejoin the Cowboys for Week 9.

Good for them......
He's still suspended until week 9 so it's certainly not immediate help.

They better keep Tank Johnson away from Keith Davis cause this is the first year that Keith Davis hasn't got shot. Not a good idea signing someone who owns a crap load of guns when you have a guy on your ream that gets shot every year.

Not a bad signing in my opinion. Other than the whole being suspended 8 games of this season. They've had some injuries there, probably will come in handy when he does get to play.

Hrm. Looks like the Cowboys are on their way back to being the halfway house of the NFL. Tank is a decent DT, but can he stay out of trouble long enough to be helpful? There's the question...

Doesn't everyone (except Dallas) own a gun in Texas?

I wouldnt doubt that Jerry asked him for some type of insight :shades:
"We didn't have any signals. Your offense just sucked is all." :cool2:

Well, he still has to finish his suspension, and he's too small to play NT in a 3-4, so he'll probably step into the DE rotation by Week 10 or so...that being said, the Cowboys' biggest problem right now is their dreadful secondary, so I don't see how this going to help them much.
Early rumors coming out of Dallas say it's vet min, no signing bonus, and very incentive laden, so financially it doesn't sound like any risk. We'll have to see how it works out, I still think the Cowboys present the best threat at this moment to take the NFC East crown and head deep into the playoffs.

When I said "fit right in", I meant personality wise since he's a thug and players like that are a Cowboy tradition.
