View Full Version : Were the Redskins throwbacks designed by Ronald McDonald?
Seriously... they look like ketchup and mustard. No wonder they changed them in the 70s. Some things should not be remembered.

I think those were the worst NFL unis I have ever seen. Philly should never wear those again.

I just thought it was the Chargers
they looked more like the chargers the way theyre playin
What was it that Keith Olbermann said about the Eagles jerseys? They looked like they were dressed up like "The Great Gazoo". Hahahaha, that was funny even though it didn't make sense. If he's talking about the Flintstones character, I don't seem the resemblance. The Great Gazoo was purely green.

I think Mooch, Dieon and Rich were saying how the Fleagles' throw backs looked like the flag of Sweden LOL.

The Skins' were designed by Vince Lombardi. True story. He was all about copying the Packers' logo. They are pretty crazy uniforms but I like them better than the older ones with the spear helmets that we wore for our 70th anniversary.

I think the Redskins wore them because the Giants just lost to the packers wearing away uni's... and the redskins uniform looked pretty similar.

If my cat threw that up, I'd have it put down. No way it could be saved.
They looked like USC uniforms.

I like them both for what they were… fun blasts to the past. On year I would really like to see us use the 1962-1963 silver helmet (http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?lo=5376) as a throwback.

Yep, Vince Lombardi wanted the Skins to look like the Packers. He coached the Redskins to a 7-5-2 finish that season, quickly turning the team around before he passed away in the next year, before he had the chance to coach a second season.
"Lombardi was the first coach to get soft-bellied quarterback Sonny Jurgensen, one of the league's premier forward passers, to get into the best condition he could. He coaxed former All-Pro linebacker Sam Huff out of retirement. He even changed the team's uniform design to reflect that of the Packers, with gold and white trim along the jersey biceps, and later a gold helmet. The foundation Lombardi laid was the groundwork for Washington's early 1970s success under former Ram Coach George Allen."

The Eagles' outfits did look bad, but they also made the team look faster. Nobody's actually moving any quicker, obviously, but it looks that way. While the Eagles' uniform is one of the NFL's better designs, I think it just looks too dark.

I didn't think anyone could look good in those uniforms. I admit when I'm wrong. I'm still waiting for Roy Williams to say how close the Eagles were to getting shut out tho.

The cheerleaders should stay in the unis, or go without them at all. The players go back to the greens.
Man, she's got a little Cory Simon going on back there. Hey, we need an NT.
