:( That sucks. Javon Walker is the number 1 guy i want out of the players that are realistically available.

Why would this be ugly for us? None of those teams are in our division so we'd still only see him once a year. We were essentially pucsed out of the running when we traded Denver for the #22.

Maybe because it will be more and more likely that the Pack will pick up VD after loosing their number one receiver.

Then we get Hawk.

We replace VD with another blue chip athlete at a need position then. People are making WAY too much of the VD going to GB. Other than giving favre one last hurrah there is no reason for them to draft VD. As for Favre, why would a new staff bend head over heels for a guy on his way out when they are already rebuilding. Franks got a 5 year extention and they would be hard pressed to carry the #5 slotted salary plus frank's contract at the TE position. Thats just way too much money tied up. Had they landed Arrington I'd give this rumor more worth but at this point in time its just posturing.

On Sportscenter they said the Broncos offered Lelie+6th rounder and the Eagles offered someone(I was distracted) +Hollis Thomas. Our offer for next years 2nd rounder is alot stronger than any deal with Hollis Thomas or Lelie.

But, they also said that Thompson will hold onto Walker if the right deal doesnt come along cause he doesnt want an environment where players can create their way out like Mike McKenzie did a few years back.

Did it actually say that we had offered next years second? We would be awesome with Walker, Bryant, Battle and VD - ****, it would be better than christmas.

It was an old rumor that someone had confirmed with a link on the other board about 3 weeks ago. It wasnt mentioned on SC though.

Ya that makes a bunch of sense, your team already cowers down to a player 2 years ago and you dont want to create an environment where that happens? the cats already out of the bag the only way to quell it is to do what the Eagles did. Yet they are openly shopping Walker to see what they can get, but of course they dont want to create an atmosphere that players think they can get what they want.
Is any team in the NFL more confused than G.B.? Favre, no Favre, both recievers unhappy, the new coach passed on their "franchise" QB a year earlier which led to the greatest fall for a player at the draft. A few years ago I couldnt dream of saying this but i'd take our organizational problems and the direction its heading over theirs anyday!

I think Farve is going to have a farewell tour much like Marino's ... a sad sad display of a once great QB.

well ill be ****ed so we did offer them the most. maybe there is a chance we can still land J-Walk. our 2nd rounder next year (if its tru) blows those other offers out the water.

Things not looking good for Denver.

Broncos | Team still falling short of a Walker trade
Fri, 28 Apr 2006 22:40:31 -0700

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports the Green Bay Packers have had extensive discussions with the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints about a trade for WR Javon Walker. They both have high second-round picks, but the Packers have been firm about wanting a first. The Broncos might be the most interested team, but they appear to be willing to give up only one of their second-round picks and WR Ashley Lelie. The Packers are not interested in Lelie and are apparently waiting for a better offer.

If we get Hawk with the 6th pick I would be fine with giving up the 22nd pick to get Walker.

As much as I like Javon Walker, I wouldn't be sad if he goes elsewhere. By the time he's 1 year removed from his injury, he'll be 29. He'll definitely be the #1 guy here though which is what this team needs, but at what cost.
