I have been offered Frank Gore for Marion Barber. I'm currently 2nd in a 14 team league, and with Gore my starting offense would be:

QB: Tom Brady
RB: LaDainian Tomlinson
WR1: Terrell Owens
WR2: Brandon Marshall
WR3: Donte Stallworth
TE: Vernon Davis
Flex RB/WR/TE: Frank Gore

Barber is probably a safer choice with the Cowboys' offense and Gore's health, but Gore has so much potential. Should I accept the trade?

No dont trade a starter for a 3rd down back. Barber is a 3rd down back in Dallas.

Once the Oline gets there chit together Gore will excel. the thing is can you wait?

Sorry if it's confusing; I have Marion Barber now and was offered Frank Gore.

Barber is the goalline back on one of the best offenses in the league. Gore is on one of the worst offenses in the league.

I'd go with Barber.

WAIT! You MUST take this as an opportunity! Gore for Barber is a wash you dont really get any better or worse from the trade. Barber is likely a top 5-8 back in the league and all your getting for him is Gore?

Offer up one of your crappy WR#2 or 3 + Barber for one of his top WR's, or possibly a top TE.

RB for RB wont help you any, use the "value" barber has in this deal to upgrade a position of weakness. On your team thats WR's 2,3 and TE.

Heck with that team i'd post on the MB Barber + Marshall or stallworth for a non RBBC RB and elite WR. You may get a deal that will blow your mind. Unfortunately RB #2 is useless for anything except depth so having an elite one wastes starting talent in the playoffs for you.

Haha, thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately my inner 49ers fan got the best of me and I accepted the trade Saturday night. I figure if I go down, at least I'll go down supporting my team. P.S. - Brady is on a bye this week so I'm starting Alex Smith, Frank Gore, and Vernon Davis. I could go as far as to start Arnaz Battle also, but that might be slightly excessive.

I swear, if the 49ers ever figure out an offense, I'm going to kick ***** in my fantasy leagues!

I have both of them on my team. I recently benched Frank for Portis though and haven't been disappointed. Frank scored his last TD vs St. Louis, a whole 6 games without a TD. You should've kept Barber.

Well to be fair, our scoring system is pretty unique. We get one point for every rushing or receiving yard, and in the case of a touchdown we get 2x the yardage points and a 25 point TD bonus. In other words, one 60-yard touchdown run (60x2 + 25 = 145) is worth more than five 1-yard touchdown runs (5x1x2 + 5x25 = 135). So even though Gore will certainly get less touchdowns, as long as he can rack up the yardage and occasionally break a long one, he should out-score Barber in our league. At least that's what I'm hoping.

It's this week I'll be starting them, but yeah, I'm bracing for the worst.
