NOt sure bout his overall, but his speed should at least be 94 and his break tackles should be 90.

i don't think i've ever seen a rookie rated any higher than 90 in Madden. my best guess for VD would probably be 86.
Lawson at 82.
Reggie Bush on the other hand could possibly make it over 90 but we'll see.
I think V.D is going to be 85+
speed like 93-95
lawson is going to be 80-83
speed like 84-88

you really think reggie wont be in the mid 80s? that is pretty low for a college player of his caliber... Hell even alex smith was an 83 or 84

Looking at last years stats, I wouldn't be surprised if his overall was lower this year. I hope not!

Oh please. Vernon Davis hasn't even played a snap yet, and yes he's strong, yes he's fast.. but 90 tackle breaking? That's ****ing rediculous. Tons of talented RB's, even power backs aren't even 90 tackle break and are much better at it.
Davis should be about 93 speed, 93-94 accel.. and about 92 agillity.. Tackle break much.. MUCH lower then 90.. with high strength. Madden never has produced good ratings though so chances are they **** Davis' rating up too.

Madden rarely has rookie players above the low 80's. i see Vernon as a 83
Yeah. Most likely.
Most of the time the top 3 picks aren't even over 83-84 unless they are as good as it gets coming out of college. Vernon was as athletic as it gets, but they will most likely underate his speed/strength (one or the other, maybe both).. and give him low awareness which is fair because he didn't exactly destroy (did good) in college.. and the fact he hasn't played a snap.
i did a import on reggie bush and he was 89

davis will be an 84 and eric johnson will be an 83..smith goes to about 77

they usually put good rookies (except for qbs) at around 85, but they improve really quickly (cept for alex smith, they decided to bomb on him in last years game). so i bet 83, 85 or 88.

Vernon Davis won't be rated extremely high on anything except maybe strength, but it won't matter because he will be low on blocking
I'm guessing he will be an 82 overall with johnson as 77 overall; smith might get 80 overall, but it is doubtful
if alex is a 77 starting next year, what will vince young and leinart be???
yay my 100th post everyone clap!!!!:racenana: :banana5: :gathering: :)

Young higher than a 77, Leinart will be about the same as Alex
im pretty sure leinart will be in the 80s alot higher than smith.

no way Vernon is thats high, Reggie Bush or Mario Williams will be lucky to have an 83 or 85 rating.
KWII was rated 85 as a rookie so it is certainly possible that Davis gets a similar rating.

I don't think it is mainly based on where you are picked. I think they also look at what they did at their pro days or combine and use the numbers to create the player. Also, they probably look at there potential.
A lot of it has to do with school too.
For example, a #10 pick out of Miami/USC/FSU or a top school is going to be higher then a #5 pick out of a school like Louisiana Tech, SDSU, etc.
Smith will be anywhere from 76-78 most likely, whereas Leinart will be 79-81.

because players at those schools like Miami/USC/FSU are more athletic which make them great Madden players. you can make any skills player great who has great speed in Madden. Leinart is the exception because he is not physically gifted at all.
Partially, but because they went to FSU/USC/Miami etc doesn't mean they are more athletic, or the better player. They are just more known. I rarely agree with Madden ratings and a lot of them are acually horribly off. You see guys that ran a 4.3's and play very fast being rated lower speed then someone who ran a 4.5 and plays ok speed just because of where they were picked. They tend to horribly underate and horribly overate players.
