I believe the niners should draft :worthy: Colt Brennan from the University of Hawaii no matter what. shore up the OL/DL via freeagency and later in the draft but we really need this guy! He's got that "IT" that Tom Brady and Peyton Manning exude. Everyones talkin about him being a system QB, well guess what, every QB is a product of the system that they are running. Everyone says that he is in a pass happy offense, look at football today, it is pass happy period. Everyone runs 4 wide, 5 wide sets. The patriots, colts, bengals, dallas, GB, and yes, even our fricken niners. There are probably a dozen other teams that have em as well. In the college ranks, same smell different nostril. Dixon, Teabow, Daniels, Ryan, Bhrom, and yes Brennan, they run their systems that include 4 wide, 5 wide sets to perfection. But the reason why I think the niners should draft Brennan is, he's got the intangibles that Montana and Young had! He's accurate, really smart, got a good arm, quick release, and he's a good character guy that Mike Nolan or any head coach would love to have. :hyper: The thing that gets me goin about Brennan is, everyone and their momma knows that Hawaii is gonna pass the hell outta the ball, but teams still cannot deter him and he is accurate as hell!! :shades: lol!! Everyone compares him to Timmy Chang but you look up Timmy's numbers and put em side by side with Colt Brennans and you will see that it is night and day! Colt is way more efficient, accurate and responsible with the ball. You can talk about his weak schedule but hey, what can you do if nobody wants to play you except for the little 1-AA schools that're lookin for a free trip! lol! Last but not least, Montana didnt have the Strongest arm in the world but he was accurate as hell and all he did was win! Win 4 Super Bowls!! Do you see what Im gettin at? Colt Brennan, starting QB for the niners Baby! It is what it is!!:sflogo:

Yeah true, Ken Dorsey and Jason White won, but they werent as accurate and didnt put up the numbers that Colt did... Colt is a lot more fluid then them two though in my opinion. Quicker release, better arm, can read like a mutha!

I don't know what Hawaiians put in their punch, but it needs to migrate east. That's evidently some seriously potent stuff.

there is no way we are taking a qb, we have committed to smith for at least one more year. i dont watch many hawaii games, but when my huskies played the rainbow warriors i wasnt impressed. uw's pass defense was the worst in the history of our program and brennan just didnt look good to me. i do believe that he is the third best qb in the draft but he shouldnt go until mid 2nd.

lets look at a bad situation...we dont draft a qb, stay with what we have with smith and hill as the back up. lets say we suck again, then we can give up on smith and pick tebow/daniels. we would then hopefully have an established defense with a solid oline to put a rookie behind. yeah then we have to wait another year but for the most part our rebuilding will be done. also all the smith haters would be happy cuz he wouldnt be playing anymore for us and nolan haters will be happy because he would be fired. but i would doubt we suck next year, at least im not rooting for it.

No, all UM and OU did was win; Ken Dorsey and Jason White just happened be the guy at QB on those stacked squads.

Brennan has taken a school that's long been a perennial football joke to respectability and a BCS bowl berth; he's not surrounded by blue-chippers and All-Americans on both sides of the ball like White and Dorsey.

I'm not sure how he'll do as a pro, but he is beating teams that they wouldn't stand a chance against without him.

:falldownlaugh: That's right!!! Bottom line.......BTG and Jennings could QB those teams and get 1 win with them at QB.:falldownlaugh:

Give UH LSU's D and the Bulldogs would be underdogs. You can also put Troy Smith up there with White and many others.Their teams were LOADED!!!! They better *****n win the championship and heismen. If not, just slit their throat.

And for the record,I wouldn't draft Colt with our 1st rounder. But I'd love to take him from the 2nd down.Helll if not Colt then some other QB,I don't care.we just can't go into next season with the
same 3 we have.:sflogo:

Hope dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye

And roped me in
So, mesmerizing,so hypnotizing,
I am captivated,I am

{Chorus}
Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed, but I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself

So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
Cut to mirror your intention
Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
And rendered me
So isolated, so motivated
I am certain now that I am

{Chorus}

So turn
up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
Trace the moment fall forever

Defense is paper thin
Just one touch and I'll be in
Too deep now to ever swim against the current
So let me slip away
So let me slip away
So let me slip away
So let me slip against the current
So let me slip away
So let me slip away
So let me slip away
So let me slip away

{Chorus}

Slight hope
dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption...

You also think that Shawn Taylor is a borderline HOFer. So you really don't hold any credibility in evaluating anything.

who cares if he plays for Hawaii. he played for Mater Dei and he played for Colorado. he's proven imo. first rounder? no. if he's sitting there early in the 3round id grab him. LIGHT SOME FIRE UNDER SMITH'S ***!

Playing for a good high school qualifies you to play in the NFL?

Brennan was amazing tonight! He singlehandledly wore out that Georgia defense running for his life and all. They were exhausted from the sacks, knockdowns, hurries and INTs. They probably haven't been that tore up since they all played Pop Warner!

Some NFL team will be desperate enough to draft him and pray that he will be their savior but he would be better off playing for the Hamilton Tiger Cats or some other Canadian team, eh?!

Despite all the great players that came and went with no drop off during those years what happened to Miami the minute Ken Dorsey left? :thud:

No one is more impartial while knowing more about Miami and who is capable of doing what more than Bobby Bowden, and he completely disagrees with you.

I watched all of Jason White's games as well, I feel the same way. People gave the credit to his team and none to him which is complete fan-ignorance.

The Frank Gore's, Willis McGahee's, Sean Taylor's, Jeremy Shockey's, Bryant McKinnie's, Vince Wilfork's also left with him. Man, those early 2000's Hurricane teams were just downright ridiculous.

So lets not act like losing Ken Dorsey was the downfall of the U. I think Kyle Wright on those same U teams would've done fairly well also.

Josh Heupl (sp?) also won a title there and they've both disappeared since.

Very true. Miami's fall off can be contributed to many factors. I think the Davis departure, Coker's recruiting fiasco with Willie Williams and countless underclassmen declarations are some of the biggest reasons for that fall off.

You actually made my point for me. During those years Miami could plug anyone at any position and there was almost no drop off at the positions. The only real constant at Miami from 2000 was QB, the minute the QB left all of a sudden they went from a one of the all time great teams to a good team to eventually an average team. Miami certainly was stacked with talent, Kyle Wright and others would have likley done well with that talent but the question is would he have been Dorsey? A guy who is considered one of the great college QB's of all time. The flip side of that coin your posing is how much better would guys who played after Dorsey left have been had he been there? How much better did Dorsey help make guys look while he was there? Was Jerome Mcdougle & William Joseph really THAT good or did the offense allow them to pin thier ears back and get after the QB most of the time with big leads? Was Jeremy Shockey THATmuch better than Greg Olsen who coaches at Miami said was the best the had ever seen at the school? Is none of that attributable to what Dorsey brought to those Miami team? Some people would tell you that, but those people probably didnt watch all the games or coach against him.

IMO, The ultimate compliment for a Miami player is how you are viewed by the nemsis FSU, and bowden consistanly said year after year he dreaded facing Ken Dorsey (not the Portis, Taylor, Wilforks, etc..) skinny little ole Dorsey. He also stated of all the great Miami QB's he was the best. Whether that is true or not is open to opinion but thats cetainly high praise for Dorsey from his chief rival who is undisputably an expert, while some amatuers would argue he did almost nothing but "show up" at Miami.

So...two years. Wow, bonafide expert.
