View Full Version : Wow Philip Rivers...
Anyone see Rivers and a few players jawing out towards Culter and the Broncos? I know a lot of talking goes out on the field, but Rivers mouthing "baby" or "the ball's over there" repeatedly...just seems a little bold of him to not show any sportsmanship. Especially since he's not that good of a quarterback in my opinion to begin with. Like the announcers said, you don't really see guys like Manning, Brady, and Favre do that kind of thing. Continuously taunting. Just strikes me as odd and kind of childish.

Hahaha! I'm liking this guy more. He's got fire.

Errrm...you can still have fire and be mature about it though.

I don't like Phillip Rivers. Ever since the game against the 49ers last year when he had a safety and started yelling like a child at the referee, i lost a lot of respect for him. Hell, even tonight one of the reporters (Michelle Tafoya?) said Champ Bailey didnt like him because he trash-talked too much.
His personality honestly reminds me of Ryan Leaf. I just want to ****ing punch the guy.

Favre always talks smack... but people know he is joking around cause he is three hundred years old...

But he doesn't go out of his way and keep doing it. From the sidelines. And it's nothing really anything personal.

Seriously, I saw that and just laughed. I think Cutler is a better QB then Rivers, yet Rivers has 2-3 good games and mouths off.
It's ok, he'll choke in the playoffs. :D

Rivers has no room to talk because he's not a good QB. The guy has time in the pocket and yet he overthrows his receivers left and right. He's terrible. The Chargers defense was giving Cutler unceccisary hits left and right. Yea what a classy team :rolleyes2:

I only caught part of the game, but I did see that.
It was a little odd. It's not like the Chargers are a top force in the league.
I wonder if something had been said in the previous game between them?

Okay, seriously I don't see the big fuss. They are competitors. They are division rivals at that. I find what Mr. Nice Guy John Lynch more unsportsmanlike...you know, considering it could have led to injury. But some trash-talking? Come on...sports would be a whole lot boring without it if you ask me.

Meh... It really doesn't bother me since it's almost always the scrubs that talk shet. Plus talking smack is always part of the game, someone will always do it. I just got a good laugh when I saw it.

John Lynch. Roid rage? What the hell was that?
As for Rivers. It's not common that opposing QBs trash talk each other. It's one thing for a QB to say the other is having a crap day or go at it with the D but....QBs play against the opposing team's D not the other QB. I missed the end of the game. Did they hug and make-up after the game like Lynch and LT did? :blowakiss:

Welcome to the AFC west, and if you didn't notice, rivers wasn't the only one doing it. There was 3-4 other guys around him doing the same exact thing. Regardless, it's an afc west thing....you know...they have actual rivalries.

I wouldn't take any of them. Regardless, what's the point of this post? Are you just trying to be goofy or did you actually think it was full of insight?

If im not mistaken earlier in the year when both teams were like 4-4 or something, didnt Reciever Brandon Marshall come out and say the division belongs to the Broncos or something of that nature? He was basically talking trash about the Chargers if I remember correctly, because it made LT mad, or someone on the Chargers.
Im pretty sure thats where it all started.
Anybody else remember this?

Kind of ironic that LT got all butt hurt last year when the Pats did the same thing to them. Now the Chargers are the ones playing the bully.

I like Rovers as a QB but he is without a doubt a whiny little beeotch.

I thought Rivers would have been more humble after he nearly lost his starting job, and barely picked it up off the ground against Tenn. But not the case, which tells me Rivers is just immature.
I think QB's should be held at a higher standard than other players because they are the highest paid, usually the face of their franchise, and are considered the leader of the team or at least the offense. I would almost excuse this behavior from a non-QB position, but because Rivers is a QB, it's plain ig'nant.

"Has Phillip Rivers really won enough games to be doing that?"
Poor sportsmanship.
The score should've been enough to do the talking for him.
I like LT but, as always, the Chargers will be eliminated in the first round.

Farve also gives congrats to players on the other team after a great play. I was amazed at it. He was picked off in this weeks game and he acknowledged the defender when coming off the field. Guy is football personified.

lol @ the Chargers. That whole team is made up of little immature whiny *****es. They like to talk and talk but then after they got owned they cry foul and get all mad at the other team mocking them.

You just throw incomplete on 4th down, you're losing pretty bad, and you have to see that tard goofin on you on the sideline.
Man.. it doesn't get much worse than that.

The Chargers are a bunch of hype. Lets see what they are saying when the exit the playoffs again in the 1st or 2nd round! All I can remember was when the Patriots did the lights out dance in the middle of the field and LT had a melt down! Seems like they can dish it out but can't take it type of team!

I think people here are overreacting because we don't even what started all of this. For all we know, words were exchanged during the last game or via text message, etc.
I also think there is a difference between trash talking from player to player and disrespecting a team's logo.
Like I said, no big deal here. It's not like he took off without paying a parking attendant or anything.
