I think I might actually not watch this. I've watched pretty much every game that's come on this year, but who freaking cares about the crappy Patriots? I sure as hell don't. I've gotten tired of watching those boring *** games.

Will Bob Costas and James Brown do the halftime shows for NBC and CBS?

The NFL is very stupid for not doing this sooner, their hardball stance has hurt them in the fan's eyes.

This way they get to expose the audience who has yet to see one of their broadcasts to their product(I would have purchased plenty of ad time for our other programming) and look like the fan friendly compromiser.

It was a good move.

Of course, I won't be watching the game because of the UFC, that's why I say this was too little, too late, but at least they finally came around.

The NFL Network is garbage, and IMHO needs to go away. Put the games on ESPN and the other major networks where they belong, and get rid of all the talking heads and meaningless hype.

No way the Pats lose. I'll probably be watchihg more of Texas vs Arizona St., the first real bowl game. Too bad Limas Sweed is out.

Hardly...

the nfl network is giving the public a freebie here (just like a drug dealer). The network has been hugely successful with their ratings for exclusive games.

look here regarding the cowboys packers game they showed

http://www.medialifemagazine.com/artman2/publish/Cable_20/NFL_Network_scores_big_with_Cowboys.asp
The Cowboys’ 37-27 victory averaged a network-record 10.1 million total viewers last Thursday at 8:15 p.m. It drew a 5.9 rating among men 18-49, ranking No. 1 for the day on both cable and broadcast, despite the fact that the network is available in fewer than 40 percent of the nation’s television households.

The game drew the ninth-largest audience of the year on cable, but perhaps most impressive was the game’s cable coverage rating, the best on cable in more than 14 years.

The cable coverage area takes into account the proportion of households tuning into a show who have the channel available in their house. It’s essentially a way of standardizing ratings between networks with vastly different levels of distribution.

Thursday’s game drew a 14.6 cable coverage rating, the best since CNN’s Ross Perot-Al Gore NAFTA debate in 1993. By comparison, ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” the most-watched show on cable last week, drew a 9.9.

nfl network isn't backing down. this is a free preview of their product and a way to shut people up for awhile. They basically turned lemons into lemonade.

They have first dibs on the games, and they'll continue to pick good ones. The cable companies who aren't signed up are going to realize they need the nfl network more than the NFL network needs them.

I don't see why everyone *****es anyways. Before NFL net you didn't get Thursday games anyways..You just got the Sunday and Monday ones.

They haven't taken the Sunday and Monday games away....so those that don't have NFL Net haven't lost anything you can still see the same number of games. However, those that are willing to pay or get a carrier that carries the channel can have something additional.

you guys are missing the piont ....

The nfl wants cable companys to offer their channel in a sttandard purchased package...kind of like MTv .

Its not the nfl's fault that only 40% of fans in the new jersey boston area have the nfl channel
