I live 20 minutes from Pittsburgh
I was at work today and a co-worker of mine told me about how some Steeler Fan harrassed her.
She was wearing a Patriots jacket and went into Giant Eagle (grocery store) and this old man came up to her and banged his cart hard against hers. She said "Excuse me." He responds with "You have some nerve wearing that thing in here." "Sorry," she replied. She then went about her business and he came back again and slammed his cart hard against hers again. She then told him "Sorry." He then spit on her.
ALL OF THIS BECAUSE SHE LIKES A FRIGGIN FOOTBALL TEAM. How crappy. :mouthclosed:

The title of your post should then be "Classless Steeler Fan"

That's pretty awful, but I think we should be careful to generally label all Steeler fans as classless. I'm sure we have some ******* 49er fans and I would hate for an incident with one of them to someone else to give our entire fanbase a bad image.
This is just a case of someone who is too invested in his team and without any respect for other people. He knows that the woman will not retaliate and so like the coward he is, picks on her without any repercussion. The woman should have smacked the man or something.

Or "Classless Old People." Those guys are jerks!

He spat on her? A dude spat on a girl? That kind of shet can't happen. Hopefully she told her husband/brother/son or someone to beat that dude's ***. If some *** spat on a girl I knew just for wearing another team's apparel, I'm pretty sure I would try to lay that dude out. I really wouldn't care how old he was, if he is low enough to spit on a girl, he's low enough to get knocked the F out.

I wouldn't give a F. If that dude spat on my mom or sister for instance and I was right there, I'd knock his *** out. That kind of shet doesn't fly with me. That's one of the ultimate signs of disrespect. There is no way in hell I'd let some old dude disrespect any girl/woman I know like that for no good reason.

I'd probably just tell him wtf? Calm that ish down before I have to put you on life support. I wouldn't be nearly as pissed if he did it to a girl/woman I know.

I'd take his cane away and pole dance in front of him. Then I'd slap my mom, because the ***** probably deserved it.
:falldownlaugh: I can imagine you beating your grandma.

It could have been an honest mistake if he'd been drinking. It's hard to say Pittsburgh when you're drunk without a little bit of spit coming out.

Steelers absolutely have some of the most classless, ridiculous fans.
We're talking about fans that beat up Tommy Maddox's kids in school after he played a bad game and vandalized his home.
I grew up with nothing but Steeler fans...oh man...there is nothing I can't stand more than Steeler fans. Grrrrr...

Banging a cart is overwhelming and scary, but spitting somebody else is taking it a notch higher. I could hit that old man and get away with it.
At least I still love my niners.

During the niner steeler game this year, I got good and drunk and had a fun time talking football with a random steeler fan at a bar this year. He was pretty respectful of our team, praised willis, clements, and even said Alex smith will only get better...(must have been the beer talking).
Outside the Giants-niner game this year, the Giant fan we were tailgaiting next to was cool as hell and traded food for beer.
Not every fan is a douchebag.
But as a Pennsylvanian I can say we take our football way too seriously over here.
Me thinks it's probably his life that sucks and little to do with being a fan. Seriously, what 'fan' terrorizes a woman and spits on her in a supermarket for wearing another team's jersey.
Spitting is disgusting and can be dangerous. You can get a slew of illnesses if you have cuts, abrasions, sores, etc.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. My wife was raised in Cleveland and is a Browns fan. Her and her family have told me some stories. Very arrogant fans to chat with too.
Every time I'm in a situation like this I always ask them...."What position do you play? You don't look very familiar." That usually shuts them up and makes them realize it's just a game.
The old man probably ran out of Viagara and thought she was hot. He was probably mad because he didn't feel any "tinglies" down there.
If he spat on my wife for her wearing a Browns coat, her wearing the coat would be the least of his worries. Old man or not. You have no idea what kind of diseases people have anymore.

The story certainly doesn't surprise me. I live in Western Pennsylvania, and I've certainly met a lot of classless Steelers and Eagles fans. There are plenty of good ones as well, though.
