Anyone watching this?

2 things that draw ire from me
but are the epitome of how Favre's career has played out.

Favre throws into double coverage and is saved by a high jumping Donald Driver...in the regular season it would have been viewed as a great play by Favre when it's really a great play by Donald driver.

2nd play was a nice pass by Aaron Rodgers to a WR running a deep route with one on one coverage with a step on the DB. Rodgers threw it to a spot to where the DB wasn't able to get a hand on it but the WR got both hands on it and dropped it...

many would take the incompletion as a knock on Aaron...

***********************************

Anyways Aaron actually looks quite comfortable for the most part and really does have a nice pass. One thing i noticed is that he doesn't have that robotic motion he had last year and he doesn't have that really high and profound throwing motion where the ball was up against his ear like he did in the brief appearance i saw him against Baltimore last year.

interested to see how he looks throughout preaseason...

Abdul Hodge is going to be a stud, I like him as a linebacker more then I do AJ Hawk.

Hodge is fairly 1 dimensional and isn't very good in pass coverage. I don't know how well his run stopping abillity will translate to the NFL and I can't say I'm a fan of his.

That's what I love about him his run stopping ability. He's only a Rook, he still has plenty of time to work on pass coverage. Even our own Manny Lawson said he still needs to get better in pass coverage.

That high point of release (ear level) is a trademark of Jeff Tedford. Any QB he coaches he wants him to have that high release because he believes it allows for a quicker release. It's weird and awkward looking but at the college level its quite effective, not so much in the NFL so it's good he's changed that.
i was just going to say that! haha. i've tried that high release stuff during some pick up games and while you can get the ball out fast, it doesn't make for a real powerful pass. it almost feels like you're alligator arming the ball.

o Chris... have you ever noticed how Tedford makes them dropback real funny too? For example, so normally, a quarterback takes a step back with his right foot, his body (chest) opening towards the right sideline before making his dropback.

a few college quarterbacks i've seen, step back with their left leg, drop back, before quickly turning around to the right side and throwing the ball. i dont know if i'm crazy, but i swear i've seen quarterbacks in college do this.

i hope rodgers has a lot of success because he went to my fellowship at CAL and i'm rooting for him all the way.

rodgers looked ok, good throwing motion but his receivers werent helping him out. wasn't really showing much leadership from what i could see though it is just practice.

Gado looks like a beast, i wish i could have seen ahman, najeh and gado to compare though. also, the offensive line looked pretty aweful at some points.

he was calling audibles and he was helping to lineup WRs who were out of place, but he was playing with the 2nd string WRs which is why they weren't helping him enough in the passing game..

but yeah his throwing motion seems more fluid then last years which was a plus.
true...
