I got in an arguement with my friend. He started talkin a bunch of **** about the Niners and how the Cardinals are going to kill us in week one. Eventually it came down to a $100 straight bet that i have to decide to take or decline before either team plays their first pre-season game. So im trying to assess my odds with this poll. I know its a niner board and the results might be slightly skewed, but im down for hearing any input.

I think we can pull it out. IMO the Cards don't look much different from last year except they got Edge. Their O line may even be worse because I think they have like 2 injuries right now. I think our offense will be better which will help out our defense. I think we win if we stay injury free.

Yeah, those are a lot of the same points i made, but people who dont pay much attention to our team expect the same crap from last year. They tell you how much Alex Smith sucks and the O-line sucks and how were gonna suck even more on "D" cause we lost the un-replaceable JP and Carter. I was totally picking the Cards up until the arguement, after careful consideration and a bunch of pride issues, im leaning niners.

Well...if all you care about is the odds, play the bet where you get the odds. I think the Cards are like 8 pt favorites right now! That would be the smartest bet if you were gunna bet...

But I'm sure you want the fun of taking your friends money....sooo I think its nearly a 50-50 shot....both teams have big question marks. It wouldn't be the dumbest bet ever.

Yeah, it would be great if i could get the points, but my niner pride wont allow me to ask for them. I'd basically be conceding to him that the Niners arent as good as the Cardinals and we need points. Im leaning toward taking the bet.

9-2, with the niners as the favorite:laugh: . I might have to post it on the Cardinals board and see how the results offset.

Home field is usually worth about 3 points towards the line. I'd at least get that much.

Don't waste your money with that guy. If you take the niners to win outright online it'll pay about 2 to 1 due to the pointspread. (currently 7.5 points at my site)

Yeah, i know, i bet online all the time (basketball, football, baseball, pretty much everything). This is just a bet that was proposed after an hour or so of arguing. If i argue that i want points than im pretty much telling him the Cardinals are better, cant let that happen. I do see where youre coming from though, id definetly make more betting it online.

17-2, hahaha:falldownlaugh: , you useless m**** ********s. I said DONT be biased.

I bet you those two votes came from our very own resident bird fans...

One had to be Cardinal Renz.....and the other was either Tiz or Large ant........lol

Yeah:laugh: , youre probably right. Oh well, its thinking like everyone else here that got me into the arguement. Ive got a couple days to decide, but im probably taking the bet.

you gotta throw something in though since you're giving him 7 1/2 points. Dude has to shave his head or something. (Or somewhere else! :D)

I think an overrated addition to the Cards is Leonard Pope. He may help them in the red zone, but he is absolutely HORRIBLE at blocking. He is tall and doesn't get any leverage at all. If he starts for AZ, i think he will have some tough times.

I wouldn't bet $100 on this game.

I wouldn't waste your money if I were you.

This isn't a question of whether or not we CAN win. This is a matter of whether or not we are LIKE TO WIN. Just because we can win does not mean we will. Their #2 receiver is better than our two starting receivers combined. Yes, they have a suspect defense, but so do we. And as much as people here will tell you that our players have improved, so have theirs. Remember, they are playing in their new stadium and are probably psyched that they get to play us at home this year.

Az is gonna be strong this year...with their first game in their new stadium....they're gonna be pumped

its possible to win...but AZ will most likey take us out
