Both guys are expected to want around 8 million a year...yet it seems as if most people would rather have Justin Smith...now to be honest player for player I would slightly take Smith over Berrian, problem is Justin Smith DOESNT FIT OUR SCHEME...if justin smith does come what we he play?

RE: This is probably his best fit for us, if he added 10 -15lbs then he could probably excell here, problem is he is already 28 and will be 29 in September, at his age can he still be capable athlete by gaining weight, if anything he would probably want to lose weight in the next few years to still play at a high level

ROLB: To me this is ridiculous, in all seriousness who could he possibly cover, hes already considered an unathletic 4-3 DE, how is he going to cover anyone, also he only got 2 sacks last year in a position hes played all his career so how is he suppose to apply pressure somewhere hes never done it before

4-3 DE: Outside of the fact that weve been trying to switch to the 3-4 for the last 3 years, this wont work either...one hes at best a complimentry pass rusher, great against the run at his position but we dont have a dominant pass rusher to compliment him

Now with Bernard Berrian he isnt right now a number one receiver BUT thats because hes been in offensive purgatory in Chicago but has still been able to produce these last 2 years...now imagine what he could do in a Mike Martz offense...hes also a year younger than Justin Smith and well be in his prime much longer due to age and position...is he worth 8 million a year probably not but HE CAN BE...is Justin Smith worth 8 million to play some hes never played before
