hmmm...... i thought nolan wanted a bruiser to backup frank gore, going through the fa list i saw 2 names of proven young backs that would be better than foster and had breakout years last year, jesse chatman of miami dolphins and chris brown of tennessee titans now we were wanting a bruiser and both of these guys fit the profile and are [U]not[U] injury prone i wonder why we didnt pursue them but instead went after a running back who has proven all he can do is stay hurt. here is link for free agent running backs

He had some injury issues his first few years but has only missed 3 games in the last three years. I dont think he is as injury prone as people keep talking

lets hope not but i still dont see why we didnt get a bruiser instead of a finesse back

He is a good pass catching back which is a big deal in the martz system. We wont run a system thats good for a "bruising" style of running

wouldnt hurt for short yardage and goal line situations and eating up the clock to keep our defense fresh

considering we didnt see alot of short yardage or goaline situations, I prefer a back i can swing it to out of the backfield. Besides, Gore is pretty much the go to guy in short yardage.
Isnt Nolans philosophy to run the clock out regardless of the situation and hope to win on the final drive anyway?
If we need to run the clock out any time soon because we are ahead Ill prolly pass out anyway
Robinson also runs very hard.
I dunno, just think its a non-issue right now.
But I see your point
