The man is not happy, he kinda dances around questions but it almost sounds like he would rather quit than play for Cinncy this year. I know they'll take a 8 million dollar hit to trade him but it better than losing him all together.

8 million dollar cap hit if they trade him. I doubt they trade him.

You know, I liked him, and then I started actually paying attention to him and I really don't like him. On NFL Network, I just didn't like how he answered the questions. It was just blah, blah, blah, (off topic), 85, blah, blah, blah. Nothing changes, blah, blah, 85, blah. It's hard to describe unless you saw it. He just didn't answer the questions. And he rolled his eyes when Eisen stayed on the topic. Ay-yay-yay.

Im sure he has to be careful what he says about his current situation in case something were to become of it. Its better for him to completely avoid the question instead of shooting his mouth off.

He has to do what is best for Chad.

My favorite line was him saying he's a team player, IMMEDIATELY followed by the line "I need to look out for Chad right now".

Yeah right, and the fact that he talks about himself in the third person and rest just feed into I find hilarious.

Yall can make fun all you want. I seriously think the guy is hurting. I believe him when he says its not about the money.

But ya lets me real, listen to the tone of his voice. Its not nearly the same chad we are used to. The laughing it up, cocky chad its all gone. This guy is by far my favorite receiver and player in the NFL who is not on the 49ers.

You can only take losing for so long. I mean look at a bunch of people here, tons of you all are pissed and not happy with our situation. Imagine being him going backwards. I think there is more to it than we know.

As far as skipping the questions, With the situations going on i feel that is the only thing he was able to do. Like he said, he has already put that out there, and there is no reason to go back to it.

I don't dispute that he could be in bad situation. I dispute HOW he's publicly doing it.

I'm not talking about about just this interview. I mean the fact he's taken every single opportunity in the post season to talk about how he wants to play elsewhere. IMO, it's just not the way to handle it.

It's fine if he wants to tell the media ONCE, but he needs to go to Cincy management and hash it out with them, not through the media.

Not the way to handle it? They treat him like **** in cinci (fans, HC, media), blaming him for their internal entanglements and their losing season after all he's done for them on the field. With his reputation, I'm surprised he hasn't completely blown off the Bengals organization, but decided to act mature about it instead.

He seriously looks like something's deeply bothering him during that little segment -- I think it's a toss up whether or not he's going to be on the same team next season, though financially they'd rather keep him it seems.

Yeah one the lines he said almost made it sound like he would rather sit out the year than play for the Bengals.

Nah, I got the impression that he'd still play his hardest, only he wouldn't be the same happy-go-lucky Chad as we're used to.

I think there is more to it than we know.

Definitely, he even hinted that there was something (internal problems) going on with the team throughout the season.

I also liked how he took a jab at TO when he said "I'm about to bust in tears right now, but I won't let you all make fun of me" or something like that lol

Whose to say he already hasn't ? Chad Johnson doesn't exactly strike me as the kinda guy who would shy away from saying what he truly wants.

But when you try to hash it out behind closed doors, and it doesn't happen, what do you have left to do do ?

It's hard for any of us to relate because we have never been there, but it is just bad for everyone to stay in a work environment where there is animosity between coaches, FO and other players.

I also don't think it is fair that the PLAYER gets all the blame; I'm sure Chad Johnson didn't wake up in Cinncy one day and decided he wanted to start beegin'; SOMETHING had to give, and if you assess the state of the Cinncinatti Bengals entire organization outside of Chad Johnson, can you truly just give their coaches and FO the benefit of the doubt ?

It's too often that because they are paid so much, anything that goes wrong in an interpersonal relationship is automatically the players fault, no questions asked. I don't think it's far fetched to think that coaches and other FO members can be cancerous themeslves.

more Chad being Chad. the guy always needs all eyes on him. when the team was going good and took on his personality he had no problem taking credit.

but now that the attitude he created his a distraction and his play is in question he wants no blame. go figure.

he's just another primadona WR who is running at first sign of team struggle. he needs to shut his mouth and play. the guys an actor, all this is nonsense. every chance he gets he cries publicly. its like a little kid running to his dad because mom didn't give him what he wanted. the Bengals dont trade him into an ideal situation so he runs to the media every 5 seconds to complain.

His play is in question? I guess 1400+ yards, 90+ catches, and 8 touchdowns makes him inconsistent when it seemed like Housh was the featured WR this year :/

I think there's a lot more to the story than what's shown -- even Justin Smith made a little comment suggesting management problems with the Bengals..

he's just lookin out for himself. in a business like the NFL, how can you blame him?

as far as his self-promoting, "selfish" ways, if it wasn't for him being that way, you think he'd have gotten half of the endorsement deals that he's gotten? in an occupation without guaranteed contracts, i'd say that's a pretty wise, intelligent business man. you don't like the way he plays or his antics, pick a number and join the line.

Chad Johnson actually:

Johnson also said he wasn't sure if he wanted to return to the Bengals, saying he was "undecided." He said he hasn't spoken with anyone from the Bengals this offseason.

I could see some Bengal players upset with Chad, even if its just a matter about him. He's making Cincy look like a terrible place, hes making the coaches look like idiots, and most importantly hes making his team mates look bad... But what do I know right? If I was in Marvins position I would trade him. If I was a bengal player, I wouldn't speak with him either...

Can anyone blame any player that wants out of Cinci? Remember, this is a team that had to put clauses into its players' contracts to prevent them from expressing what they thought of Bengal management and ownership. This was before the crime spree that a portion of their roster went on and it may have even predated Marv.

All the players still love chad and chad still loves them. He mentioned that during the NFL Network Interview. He said Carson and TJ know what he is going through. I think there is more to it then we know as stated earlier.

Agree completely.

Honestly, can SOMEONE answer me the question of why the Bengals' FO deserves any kind of benefit of doubt in this situation ?

One thing I can't stand is other people trying to get involved in another mans finances, another man's career.

Who the **** are any of us to say what kinda people are the higher ups' in the Bengals' organization ?

Is Chad Johnson automatically at fault regardless of what is being said and done by others behind closed doors, just because he gets paid big bucks and is outspoken ?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Bengals had MAJOR problems long before this Chad Johnson issue.

Is it that hard to comprehend the possibility of the man just wanting out of a bad environment for him ?

See, this is where it is a lose-lose for the player. If he answers the question honestly, the media paints him as a bad guy. He could also get suspended like TO. But now, since he is side-stepping the questions, he gets hated on for that.

He is basically giving his answer without "technically" giving his answer. An example, was when he talked he talked with Dukes and Housh at the Pro Bowl about wanting to change "Madden teams" but that it isn't up to him.

The guy is basically making it very obvious that he does not want to be there but doesn't want to say the wrong thing so that he doesn't get penalized for it like TO did. If he says the wrong thing, the Bengals can suspend him for actions detrimental to the team and then release him and then go after part of his bonuses. I'm sure he saw what happened to TO (recently told to give back some money to the Eagles) and doesn't want to say something that will cost him millions.
