Why laugh at the Patriots? They were the first team to go 16-0 in the regular season. They have a lot of good players on that team.
They didn't piss away the 7th overall pick on an over-rated offensive tackle from the MAC.
Their coach has a clue.
They have a real quarterback.
I love my 9ers, and always will. But before you laugh at a team that's winning, Look in the mirror and give a little chuckle too.

The spy-gate thing rubbed people the wrong way, and we have heard how Tom Brady is the second coming of Jesus for the past 5 years. Then all people heard from the media and Pats fans in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl was what amounted to a virtual B.J. It wasn't about who would win or lose, but about how many points the Pats would win by and whether or not they were the greatest team ever. Then they failed.
It is human nature to like the underdog and find pleasure in this kharmic reverse.

I have to admit I was rooting for the pats in that game because I hate Eli Manning and I hate Mercury Morris and the brutally over-rated 73 Dolphs.

During pregame little-Manning went up and said hi to Brady with a little pat on the back and Brady just sort of grimaced and gave the "you're not good enough to touch me" look. And then he and Belicheat walked out the stadium with seconds left at the clock -- wtf is their problem? Both teams played their hardest and the Giants came out on top, no need to act like *****es about it. And yes, part of the reason why I hate them is because of the over-hype they've gotten all season long even when they didn't dominate in a handful of the games (barely won) when they're supposed to be the "greatest team of all time".

When you win the first 18 games of the season and lose the one and only game that counts I'd say it's pretty funny. The niners didn't do well obviously but to lose like the Patriots did would be heartbreaking as a player and a fan which is why it's hilarious.

Most people don't appreciate how impressive the Pats season was. Winning a Super Bowl is less impressive than going 16-0. Every year someone will win the Super Bowl but seeing another team go 16-0 may not happen for long while.

They didn't need to cheat after Week 1; they got away it for 6 years before and already screwed the rest of the NFL out of 3 dishonest Super Bowl trophies.

We laugh at them because the only way that the Patriots ever won was by spying on other teams. They even hinted at Patriots taping of the last run through of the Ram's defense when they won that superbowl. It's natural for people to laugh at frauds. They are far from being the greatest team ever, anyone can win when you know the signals of the opposing team and therefore know what play is going to be run. The Giants are superior to the Patriots, Eli Manning is a far better qb than Tom Brady. Brady is the most overrated qb to play the sport of football, again anyone will look good when they already know what coverage the defense is in before you even snap the ball.

Also, it seems that the refs somehow always take the side of the patriots in every game they play. Especially during the play offs. Wouldn't be too surprised if they are paying off the refs.

They were caught cheating against the Jets this season, that's it and they still went undefeated in the reg season.

There's no way you mean this.
What has Eli done other than suck until this year and then get lucky to win the superbowl?
Brady is the best in the league.
The patrtios went 17-1 after they were caught cheating in week one and couldn't do it anymore.
They had their best season when they didn't cheat.

Yeah... Brady is REALLY overrated... While I don't condone any of the Pats actions, they are indeed the best team in the league... And we all know whats gonna happen next year, the Pats are gonna be PISSED from their super bowl loss, and go back and win it... Theyre not gonna be a team like the Raiders and just roll over and be pathetic. And Eli Manning better than Brady? All he did was ride the Giants D-Line to a win, everything hes done in the playoffs is exactly because he can't be anything more than a TRENT DILFER.

they have a good team overall, genius/evil coach + CHEATING gets you this...
minus the cheating actually..
Why do people forget that they were actually watched this season closer than any other team?
Every team in the league was more likely to cheat this season than the patriots because no one was watched like they were.

i dont feel brady is overrated in the least bit considering before this season he had basically nobody and made it to the nfc championship, and won 3 superbowls with no big name receivers besides deion branch. he did this all consistantly in the regular season too not just in the playoffs. i dont support the patriots but i do however like tom brady, not as much as peyton manning, but he is very very good and in my opinion not overrated.

No, it just gave people the reason to hate them that they've been itching for.
Yeah I guess that wasn't worded too well, but that was pretty much what I meant. It isn't like they really needed stolen signals to beat the Jets that day anyway, it just gave more ammunition to those that hate the Pats. It is the allegations of using tape on a Super Bowl walk-through and other possible cheating in the past that may have helped them win Super Bowls that are more serious, but there is no hard evidence on that as of yet. A lot of us would like to know how deep the rabbit hole really goes, but I doubt the former-Pat Walsh fellow actually has the hard evidence to actually do it.
In conclusion, get bent Pats.

Against the Jets yes they did.
after that there was no cheating or at least no one has ever reported anything.
So unless you know something the rest of us don't then what I said is correct. After the patriots stopped cheating the only game they lost was the superbowl.
I wonder how many will be laughing at the Pats when they play us next season.
They got caught against the Jets and all of a sudden they cheated and stole signals for the rest of the season? Some must have some real 'insider' info.
Sure they're arrogant and have swagger. Most good teams do. Maybe a little too much at times but who did all the trash talking before the games? Mainly their opponents.

I'm hoping that we'll make a game of it (that would be nice wouldn't it?) when we play them, every team has a chance but.......well, maybe I'll feel better when I know who our starting QB is, whether our O-line can pass block, and if our WRs learn how to get open and catch.
its not about the Pats vs 49ers. its about the Pats having the biggest failure of a season ever. they cheat and still cant win. i dont care if they beat the 49ers 4534543 to 0 next year, I'll still be laughing last year was a complete waste.
Pats suck.
Pray tell how does going 18-1 translate to the biggest failure 'ever'? Ever? Just cause they lost the SB? Did they cheat against the Giants and lose? Hardly. They lost out at perfection by one game. Maybe they do use their mouths to pull at things so suck. But if suck, in its more common meaning, means being terrible, then I don't think so.
because for the rest of history we will talk about what a failure and fraud this team was. they were unclassy in victories and they cheated. they even benefited from many critical calls to keep the streak down the stretch. this video sums it up:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=mD0vARpus-g
losing in the Sb is one thing. losing when your undefeated is another. the Pats season was a complete failure and we will forever remind them of it.
Did they get caught cheating for more than one game this season?
No, for me anyways, 18-1 is not the biggest ever or a complete failure.
Guess it depends what someone's definition of failure is.
I consider our last 5 seasons as big failures and this...............
"What ensued was a disappointing 5-11 season and an offense that scored only 219 points, tied for the fewest in franchise history in a 16-game season. The 49ers were last in nearly every key offensive statistical category"
49ers offense in 2007:
Stat Total NFL rank
PPG 13.7 Last
Total YPG 237.3 Last
Pass YPG 145.0 Last
Rush YPG 92.3 27th
one of the biggest failures.
they had multiple tapes showing the same sort of actions. Goodell destroyed evidence before more news came out. and this Walsh guy apparently is ready to reveal more evidence. so yes, its known they had a history of cheating. otherwise Mangini wouldn't have been so sure the Pats would cheat against him.
and thats where your wrong, we're tlaking NFL history, not 49ers history. the past 5 seasons will be quickly forgotten around the NFL just like all seasons like this. the Pats on the otherhand will be remembered forever and remembered as a huge failure. poetic justice for such an unclassy and cheating bunch.
I thought we're only talking this season. They got caught once.
For many, the Pats will be remembered for losing the SB and missing out on a chance to ge undefeated but they'll also be remembered for going unbeaten in the regular season, scoring the most points, the most passing TDs, and the most receiving TDs.
If we continue on the pace we are, believe me we will be remembered in the league.

There are 5-11 teams every year, and every team goes through dark times. Nothing outta the ordinary.
Getting exposed for cheating all through out your dynasty, and FAILING at the only HONEST chance at winning a SuperBowl ? THAT will embarrass your franchise FOREVER.

Do you think any of the Pats' players or coaches are walking around grinning ear to ear based on their REGULAR SEASON ?
Your regular season doesn't mean **** if you don't win a championship. Period. The PATRIOTS will even tell you that.
If it meant so **** much, the NFL would just cancel the playoffs altogether and just give the Lombardi trophy to the team with the best record.
Awesome, the Patriots' can run up the score and play HARD on all cylinders without sitting a single starter to win the final game of the season, but when it MATTERED, they got chin checked against the wall.
As it stands, I don't care about the askerisk crap or anything, the Patriots' franchise has lost tons of credibility that can NEVER be regained, and in the eyes of the fans, which is the only thing that truly matters, they have never won a legitimate Super Bowl.
Super Bowl wins happen every year, so that makes it not important ? Super Bowl LOSERS happen every year too, so by your logic, the Pats' are just another number.

I am a Trojans fan, and their '05 season as spectacular as it was, was not a success because they lost the Rose Bowl to Texas.
Only difference ? The Trojans weren't cheating scumbags who had to rely on knowing the other teams plays for their prior success.
