Smart decision. It's good they didn't wait that long, they didn't need to.

This is what our team should have done with the #80. As soon as Jerry decided to retire, his # should have been retired as well.

Is there a reason Jerrys number hasn't been retired yet? It doesn't make any sense to me why it hasn't already been retired.
I have no clue. But I think it shows a lack of respect from the owners of our franchise to have not retired his number when he retired. He's the GOAT and his # is still not retired.

49ers should have done this with 80 AND 8.

I think it takes a while for the 49ers to do that; it wasn't that long ago when they retired 16.

Jamie Dukes, on NFLN, being a total dumbass and all, thought this was stupid. Why? Because he thinks Brett Favre might possibly come back and play for the Packers or Ravens. :falldownlaugh:

#16, 80, 42, 8, 33 all should have been retired by now. It's kind of disheartening that they have not. It shows the lack of respect that John York has for the Niners dynasty.
