People like Dan Marino, David Garrard, Frank Gore, Lofa Tatupu and Julian Peterson have scored horribly on their Wonderlic tests and went on to become great NFL players. What's your opinion on the Wonderlic? I've heard some players just fill in random answers because they know the score won't affect their draft stock.

yeah they're pretty pointless. When I took my college placement test I scored into college Geometry meaning I could skip college algebra & by the time I finished up my math units I would be in College Calculus. English I scored into the lowest English that would gimmie units towards graduation tho I had been a high school AP student. I pled to my councelor to please let me move down math classes & up english because of the fluke and simply didn't do it. long story short after almost 3 semesters there I'm done with english & haven't earned a single math credit. MULTIPLE choice test can be deciving sometimes.
when I hear about Green's 3/50 I'd like to take a look at how long he took to complete it before I'd jump to any conclusions. He may have just bombed the **** on purpose...
I don't see why he'd bomb it on purpose, but I do agree.

Interesting thread. The wonderlic is stupid. But you know what, I think the whole Combine is badly over-rated. Pro-days mean so much more.
Some guys aren't 100% healthy yet, or couldn't train because they weren't healthy, there's too much waiting around, the combine is televised....
Guys who light it up at the combine don't have a great track record in the NFL.
I'm talking about you Vernon Davis! He is a first round athlete with 5th round skill.

Green is dyslexic.
Julian Peterson, on the other hand... he has no excuse for his 5 out of 50.
The Wonderlic does have some use to it. It proves that the player is willing to spend the brainpower to sit down and think. To force them to use their logic. A lot of these players end up lazily going through college and allowing people to do their homework for them and just get by academically. In the real world, whether you are a football player or an astronomer, a level of intelligence is needed in order to be functional the job.
Then again, Alex Smith is very smart academically but a retard on the field, staring down the passrush and not able to spot his open receivers. LOL
Remember, you can't read a player's mind. At the combine, this and the interviews are the only way to judge a player's level of intelligence. You can't just have a football team full of morons, you'll never succeed if your team doesn't out think their opponents.
