I think they'll be pissing themselves if Derrick Harvey falls to them.

The real question is:
If Harvey were to fall to them, would they trade Peppers while they still can?

I doubt it, Mike Rucker is old and NYG has shown that having a pair of dominant rushers works wonders.

But at the same time, with Peppers falling off the map and rumors circulating that he lost the love of the game, are they going to want to pay him the greatest defensive contract in NFL history at the end of the season?

Rucker retired.
They drafted Charles Johnson last year, and have McClover as a rotational guy. If they can get a 1st rounder for Peppers, I think they'd go for it.
They're looking at OT or DE here, and for me Groves is the top prospect at either position on the board here...that's where I went with my vote. (I get the feeling Groves won't receive votes on these until pick 29 though )

They probably would give up Peppers for a 1st, but I don't think they're going to get one...at least not high enough in the first round as they'll want.

Looks like he's being 'forced' into retirement. He only wants to play for CAR, and they don't want to re-sign him at this point.
Free agent DE Mike Rucker is having second thoughts about returning to the league next year, and is "leaning toward" retiring.
Rucker said a couple weeks ago that he wouldn't mind coming off the bench, but the Panthers seem uninterested in bringing him back, and he's hesitant to play in a different city.

This looks like it's turning into another Ellis to Cincinatti pick.
