I see on here all the time Groves, then I see we don't need him.
I think we do, with him lawson on the outside, that could be tuff for any off to stop. I also know we need alot. So what do we get in the 1st rd?

Nobody on here knows, don't let them fool you.

I'm sure we could narrow it down to about 10 guys.

We are picking late in the round and with so many needs, I bet the Niners management doesn't even know yet.

it all depends on what is on the board at 29.. i mean we are going to have to wait until about the 26th/27th pick to really start evaluating what we need and who is a top rd prospect. not to mention the fact that it depends on how the office is rating players.. i mean if there is a guy who they thought was going top 20-25 and he is still there at 29.. then ofcourse the niners will jump on him.. thats just a give-in.. bc he was rated high and he fell to us.. but now if we are at 29 and we are looking at who can be a number 29 guy.. then there is alot that will have to go with it.. so all we can do right now is speculate! but its almost time!! saturday!!!!

Bayarea, I can't believe you have only been on the MB for only 4 months. The more I read the more I like. The thread should have been closed after that answer. Perfectly stated.

I would like to think they have a good idea as to what they are going after for the whole draft. I am sure they just don't say f it and wing it.

manningham is pure crap,3rd rounder at best.mayo will be there at 29,but i doubt we take him.there are better LB's to be had.look for mayo in the early second round

From the mock drafts I've seen they vary from Dan Conner LB, Keith Rivers LB, and OT out of BC (name is slipping right now). I personally like Conner, seen him at Penn St and he is a stud and would be nice pairing with 52. The lingering question is, since McNolan take "the best player on the board" will there be a Brady Quinn type player to drop from top 10 prospect to late 1st rd?

there are 28 decisions made before we can make ours...there are ghuys im sure the team likes but be real 28 of them will most likely be gone at our pick...as far as who we are looking at i think we are looking at one of the big receivers in the 6'3" range....along with a guy like cheralis groves is possible if he is there and rated highest for us at that point...we dont have a tone of holes but we can use some upgrades and i think we will be drafting the best player available for our depth/upgrade needs.

We have enough holes, and pick late enough in the round, that it could be any of a half dozen guys easy. We could even trade down for the right price.

My top 3 were:

Quentin Groves
DeSean Jackson
Gosder Cherilus

But, the closer it gets to the draft, the more I believe all 3 of those guys will be gone.

So, now I'm thinking it will either be one of the ILB's (Lofton, Mayo, or Connor) or trade back.

Yep.

Cason would be in there with the ILBs for me, in case we can't trade down.

If all four of those are there Maj. do we trade back anyway and hope that one of them is available with our second round pick?

Interesting thought. IDK. Probably not, because is Groves is there, he's better than 29 so we should take him without hesitation.

I don't know who our #1 pick will be.... but I know what I want..... DeSean Jackson in a Mike Martz offense. Jerry Rice was working with the kid, and then he would be coming to an offense where he can learn from Mike Martz and Iaasac Bruce. VD and B Johnson can be the physical guys.... lets use DeSean and J Hill to stretch the field and open up the run game finally for Frank Gore. He face an 8 man box all last year. DeSean Jackson in the slot of a 4 WR set would loosen up that box REALLY quickly. He would be matched up against nickel and dime backs, and his size won't be an issue at that point because he'll be matched up with guys his size who probably couldn't keep up with him anyway. DRAFT DeSean!!!! PLEASE!!!!! If Jerry Rice loves the kid, GIVE HIM A SHOT!!
