What round do you think he will go in? I think he would be a really good 2nd round pick for us if he is there.

I see him in the 2nd probably and unless the falcons go Dorsey in round one (right now I see Dorsey going #2 to rams) then i think that the falcons will snactch him up right in front of us.

IMO, he'll go somewhere between 37 to ATL and 43 to CAR. The teams picking in that range (ATL, SF, NO, DEN, CAR) all need an explosive DT.

QFT.
The more I study up on this guy, the more I like him. How sweet would that be to nab Groves in the 1st and his teammate Sims in the 2nd?

I'd say late 2nd, maybe early 3rd.

Would he be an UT or an NT.

He could do either.
As a fan of his, I actually would rather see him go to a 43 team and one gap. He's so disruptive, and an attacking style of player, it would almost be a waste to make him play 34 NT.

I think early on in your mock drafts you had him going late first. Why the change to early to mid second? Other guys moved up or is he now at his true value later in the draft?

Both.
Obviously, he starts higher on my board than other guys, because I'm more familiar with him. The more chances I get to see other games and prospects, the more tinkering occurs with my board. He has the potential to be a top 25 prospect out of this class, but he did declare early, and he did have some issues with the team early in his career. Based on talent alone, he's the 3rd best DT in this draft, he just needs to live up to it. So, in that regard, some of the more 'sure thing' prospects will go higher than him.

He is a perfect argument for trading back. If SF can trade their first rounder for late second and a third, they can grab a solid OT, an OLB pass rusher and still grab Sims. They might need to package a sixth or a seventh to put the extra pick into position to grab him, but that would be well worth it.
They could probably grab Groves or Avril, Sam Baker and Sims in this scenario. That would leave them with their original third for a OG, their fourth for a speedy WR and a late rounder to take a flyer on an unknown.

I didn't realize we brought him in for a visit (just read that 2 minutes ago). He ran into Groves while he was here too.

Wow. That is interesting. Would Sims still be there with our early second round pick Maj. or would we have to trade up? If we somehow got both Sims and Groves I would be really happy.

Doubt we take him now, since we took Balmer with our 1st pick...
