I saw Landry win in the slow mo.

Edit: Yeah, and the last part confirms it.

Did Willis and Lawson ever do their race? I seem remember Lawson wanted to run barefoot at night in the street.

Probably the fastest Portis has been in awhile...Landry runs 4.3ish, and he had real sprinting form while Portis was racing with pretty lazy body form with his upper body going everywhere, but he still kept up...I don't think I remember him being in this good of conditioning this early before the season in a long time.

And Landry's a monster, I hope he and T.O. can become the kind of close "friends" Sean Taylor and T.O. became, that'd be nice. He's already given Plaxico some good impressions of the future.

Nah, I think it was a tie.. the camera is at an angle making it look like Landry is ahead, but if you look at their feet they're almost exactly parallel.

Yeah, Landry is in the mid 4.3's and Portis was right there with him. Portis has always been quick, but the past couple of years I don't believe he's was as fast as he looked in this video. Man, Landry is chiseled, but Portis looked pretty ripped as well in that video too. Both of them are in tremendous shape, though.

Portis disliked Al Saunders and his offense, and Saunders really didn't like Portis. He seems to like Zorn and the WCO offense premise a lot more though, so I think he's getting into better shape than before. He hasn't been this dedicated as early in the off-season since 2005.

thats good to hear i like portis as a player and i hope he does better but i was wondering what has happened to him the past few years He had really dumb injury luck in 2006 starting with a freak separated shoulder in the preseason and ending with him on IR by Week 8 or so with numerous problems, just another part of an ill-fated season for the entire team.

Last year he was getting back into it but for whatever reason Al Saunders never liked the guy, always spoke out about wanting more of Ladell Betts carrying the ball, and the playcalling was awful for him until Todd Collins came in at QB. Plus the Redskins used a very inconsistent o-line most of the season due to injuries. Portis seemed to be one of the major factors in the heavily rumored "problems" between Joe Gibbs and Saunders.

He seems a lot more re-energized and ready to play under Zorn and the WCO though, and Zorn seems in love with the guy and his ability to move with the ball when in open space, so hopefully he'll have a good year.

landry is a f'n machine. he can be as good as he wants. Very true. I think his long-term potential still goes under the radar of a lot of people though. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he becomes recognized as a top 5 safety in the league in a couple years, in fact I'll be more surprised if he hasn't reached that level yet. I've said it before and I'll say it again- call it homerism, fine, but I honestly believe watching Sean Taylor's final season (where he was easily on All Pro pace and a definite top candidate for Defensive MVP when he got hurt) where he finally got the mental pieces together (patience on the field, intense film study, etc.) to go along with his extremely rare physical abilities, he was on his way to solidifying a great, great career, maybe even Hall of Fame worthy. Landry, though, doesn't necessarily have the freakish size and agility combination, and he's not the incredibly natural ball hawk that Taylor was, but he's a heck of a lot smarter and quicker to adjust than Taylor was this early on- I'm sure a lot of that comes from their backgrounds in college and Taylor being a natural freak athlete vs Landry's workaholic tendencies. Landry hits the film room and learns the game faster than Taylor did while still possessing that 4.3 speed and big enough size (and especially strength) to deliver big hits when necessary, and he seems to have even more of a mean streak than Taylor did. It'll be interesting to see how Landry develops over the next couple years, I just hope he gets a better pass rush to help him out.

That being said however, had the Sean Taylor tragedy not occurred and he was still alive and a Redskin, I would have probably preferred Okoye over Landry. I was a big Okoye fan before the draft and still am, and think he would've been a perfect addition to the Redskins d-line at the weakest spot on the entire defensive unit.

The better question is how many people have pictures of players with their shirts off and/or feel the need to post one's they recently googled?
