I was just wondering how parking is at the home games? Is it worth the money to purchase a parking pass, or are there reasonably priced places to park that are close to the stadium? Also how complicated is it leaving the games? Is it better to park outside of the stadium or in the parking lot?

Since I have only been to two games, I am not an expert by any means. When the 9ers played the Seahawks last year we were allowed to park in the parking lot. When they played the Ravens the following week we werent allowed in at all, we had to park across the street. I think it was $25.00 either way.
Just like anywhere if you were to leave at the same time as a huge crowd it gets a bit hectic. We left five or ten minutes before the game ended to help avoid the mad dash, that and we were getting whooped, lol.
Its pretty easy if you have a car with the GPS in it. It will give you the directions right out onto the highway and take you straight back to your hotel in no time.

We've got that.
I was just wondering if it was worth the money to be closer. Here in CO we never drive to the games, we just drive halfway up to Denver and then take the LightRail into the city. There is a dropoff directly at Invesco Field, the Pepsi Center, and Coors Field. It's been quite a few years since I've driven to any game.

Well, we drove each time, as I mentioned, I think it was $25.00 for parking. Since you planned on staying in Burlingame, its a five minute drive, if that to get there. It is also possible to check EBAY to see if someone has a parking pass for cheap yet or closer to the time you're staying. I thought the 25 was kind of high, but well worth it.
I never did look into seeing if there were buses available to ride to and from the game. I managed to be there when the Seahawks stayed at the hotel you could always hope the opposing team is there and hop on their bus. lol

In the immediate area around the stadium there is additional parking areas that last year cost $25.00-$30.00. In most cases they are right across from the Main Parking Lot.
If you are staying in Burlingame, take 101 north, take the Cow Palace exit and go back over the freeway. Turn right on Airport/Bayshore Blvd, and then right again at Tunnel Ave. (signal light). Then right on Beatty Rd. and left on Alanna Rd. Go under the freeway and take the 1st right into the triangular parking area.
This is a dirt lot without marked spaces and the attendents (Nazi type) will direct you where to park The cost was $25.00 2 years ago, I don't know if it went up. You can actually have more room between cars here than in the Main Parking Lot.
There are Port-A-Potties (same as the Main Parking Lot) right acrooss the road in the Executive Office Parking which is a bit more but you have paved and marked spaces. From there it's a 5-7 minute walk to the stadium.
IMO, if you are just tailgating by yourself, these are the best places to park because once you return to your vehicle you can be on the freeway in less than 10-15 minutes...otherwise it could be a hour.

It can flat out SUCK getting out of the main lot and through the gridlock back down the hill to the freeways. I have been a season ticket holder for 15 years and only bought the passes the 1st year. If it's a really big game w/ a full house..........forget about getting out of there. I park down low right off the freeway in those office building paved parking lots. Much easier to walk down the hill past the gridlock after the game. Get in your car squeeze in and you're almost on the freeway. I have a 3 hour ride home so I don't want to spend 2 hours just getting out of the lot.

I didnt need a parking pass the last few games I attended. But you have to get there really early. Last year for the MNF game, we got there about 2pm and just had a big tailgate party going but they let us in the main parking lot at 25 bucks. I think its 25 bucks regardless of where you park

Oh getting out can be a problem. Thats why we just fire up the grill after and just wait bout an hour and everything is all cleared up. Not bad if you're tailgating and get hungry after the game

I went to a game last year and parking was no problem. We went really early cause we wanted to tailgate (Club 49 is the BEST!!!), got a parking spot right up front, near where Club 49 parties at. Then we hung out after the game and tailgated some more, by the time we left the parking lot it was like 7 or 8 at night!! Don't know if you want to party that hard!! Needless to say, there was NNOOOO traffic when we left!! It was a really good time though. If you go to Club 49's website, they have a link and everything that gives you directions on how to get to their tailgating area. The cost to park was only $25.

Parking is the same price whether you have the pass or not $25. Around 2.5 hours before the game they close the main lot to only parking pass holders and all others have to park in the outer dirt lots. If you park near the exits to the lots you can get out easier. The Candlestick park freeway exit can be brutal so maybe heading north to get south is better.

The post game tailgate has become a habit with alot of fans. There is only two ways out for 60,000 fans and they both go to the same freeway, the 101. There are a lot of fans that will leave no matter how the game is going when there is about 10 minutes to go in the 4th. The rest wait tell the end. You have two choices then, one wait for about an hour in the stop and go traffic or wait in the parking lot then leave after some more food and drink. I will say that the wait after a win is much better than after a loss.
