This is a place to talk about our all AFC draft game!
Talk about how you'd run your team, your favorite pick, or a pick you regret!

My thoughts:
-I regret my Andre Davis, Chris Crocker, and Alan Faneca picks. Not that I think they're bad, but because in each case I'd thought Vincent Jackson, Dawan Landry, and Eric Steinbach were off the board, who I would have taken over those two picks.
-David Thornton in the 13th and Kevin Walter in the 22nd were huge steals. I also loved my value on Marvel Smith in the 10th, Mike Peterson in the 11th, and Randy Starks in the 20th.
-The worst thing for me was that my computer wasn't working for a couple days so I missed out on Kerry Rhodes.
My favorites:
Playmakers: SBb49...Johnson, Marshall, and Gates is a crazy combination.
O-line: CAG...assuming he gets even a mediocre guard with his missed pick, those are possibly the top two tackles in the league.
D-line: OP...though I think mine is pretty close.
LBs: Benji...though I'm not sure about Johnson as a rush 'backer.
Secondary: ninerlicious...all four of those players are so underrated.
Overall:
alex smith. The only weaknesses are receiver and safeties. Other than that, that team is loaded.

Thoughts:
- I wasn't a big fan of my Jake Long pick, but there was a huge run on LTs, and I didn't want to miss out on a (potentially) good one
- I loved getting Marvin Harrison in the 10th round, and Heath Miller was too good to pass on in the 12th round. But I think my biggest steal was John Digiorgio in the 20th round. I was happy to get a 100+ tackle guy that late.
My Favorites:
Playmakers: Mine(Though I do like SB's as well)
O-Line: CAG(Then Maj)
D-Line: Ninerlicious(Op Prime's probably comes in 2nd for me)
LBs: Benji's(I agree with Esco, most have a solid LB corp)
DBs: Benji's(Though I don't like the Ty Law pick)
Overall Offense: Might be biased but I really like mine
Overall Defense: Alex Smith(Benji close 2nd)
Overall: I don't see a clear winner, I liek everyone's team, but there isn't one that seems to be far over the rest

I like my team. I don't particularly like my receivers and safeties (i regret taking ginn jr over kevin walter, but i figured in a real game situation i would need a speedster WR to stretch the field).
My favorite picks were probably, Asomugha, Eric Wright and I got Ray Lewis pretty late.
I like beasley's offense a lot. Would be tough to defend against that.
I think benji, me and ninerlicious have very good defenses.
Overall I think Gof has a very strong team.

actually, i like your team a lot. i'm not too crazy about odom and young, and it's hard to call anderson a sure thing... but that's pretty limited to 3 maybe 4 players in this game.
i like BFP's team a lot too, mostly because of the offense. i think benji and i have the best D for sure, but i like my offense a lot more so i'd give myself the edge... of course, it could be my being biased.
with the opportunity to get grab the #1 QB in the league, and one of the best ever :mouthclosed: my gameplan was to focus on D (with the exception of some key OL moves) knowing that my QB could carry the offense... i still managed to get two good receivers and a really nice RB tandem that complements each other exceptionally. i love my defense though. i thought getting shaun ellis as late as i did was a nice break, and stephen cooper was a steal!!! a strong and versatile front seven with a young, playmaking secondary... i don't see a weakness in that whole unit.
i had a tough time deciding between going with scaife on my last pick or taking an extra offensive lineman that can catch in brandon manumaleuna. i think i made the right choice with the more athletic one... scaife would stretch the field a lot better and would finally have a good QB to get him the ball. it's already been proven that it doesn't really matter who's out there, brady will get them the ball.

Funny, because I'd have to say your choice let me grab the #1 QB in the league, and one of the best ever.

I had to go with the opposite of that strategy. By the time my pick came around, the three elite QBs were gone. So, I took the best pass rusher, then focused on building the best offense I could, to put an average QB in a good situation.
Depending on who you ask, Rosenfels out-played Schaub in HOU last year (which is why they wouldn't accept any trade offers for him this offseason). I feel confident enough with him as my QB, behind an elite OL, with top-notch skill players to offer support. Addai is among the best at every facet of the game (running, receiving, blocking), and my WRs offer size and speed (respectively), and Clark is a TE/WR hybrid. Johnson is the best all-around FB in the NFL right now, so I'm very confident in this group.
As for my defense. After grabbing my PRS, then concentrating strictly on putting together the best offense I could, I kind of figured I would go the Tampa-2 route for this side of the ball. I've got two skilled pass rushers, penetrating DTs, and secondary that is great in run support. My LBs are solid fits for the T-2 defense, with Groves playing the Briggs/Brooks position, I should be in okay shape there. Otherwise, I can move him down to DE and pull Geathers back to LB, where he got some experience last year in CIN.
Obviously everyone is going to like their own teams (otherwise you shouldn't be playing). I think my squad would be able to hang with anyone else's if these were real rosters...or if someone wants to Maddenize this and sim it up

Anyone agree that there is a little more talent in the NFC than AFC? I really want to get an NFC game going, like tonight

yep... i did a similar thing last year with freeney as my first pick. although i took ed reed with my second and then focused on the offense.
i didn't watch much texans games so i don't really know much about your QB, but your OL is incredible and he'll have a lot of options. i still think BFP has the best offense but yours looks pretty tight as well.

Seriously. If we do an NFC game, we HAVE to get dedicated players. Mostly because mini camps are opening up soon and people tend to get bored with these games. I don't want to host simply because:
1. I've hosted 2 already
2. I have a very different schedule than most people here, and its tough for me to update everything every day.

Unfortunately I really can't play in this one. I'll be gone by next week for vacation and won't come back 'til early August. I don't know if I will have internet access so unfortunately I won't be able to join you. :(
Have fun...
EDIT: And whoever drafts Reggie Smith will win this game... ;)
