The 49ers came up as a possible suitor, but it was all about the Detroit Lions.

Spikes said that he would like to play for the Lions tampa 2 defense and mentor Ernie Sims.

He talked about not wanting to play for a young team at all.????

He sounded like an angry veteran that thinks he's gods gift to football.

Dont care wether he signs or not. I think we'll be fine without him and with Thomas at TED.

I've read that at TED it will be Ulbrich and Moore and then at MIKE is Willis and Thomas... So, apparently Ulbrich is the starter right now. :( Bad.

i really hope thomas can push ulbrich for the starting spot. i dont think it'll happen though. =/

Very bad... my grandmother is faster than Jeff Ulbrich... Thats one thing I do know.

Didn't Nolan say within a week ago that Larry Grant would be competing for the TED position with them as well ?

I don't expect him to win it, but I think he's at least in the picture.

There isn't anything wrong with The Brick at ted...he is the epitome of a Nolan guy, unselfish, well rounded, strong and smart, problem is he is a little small to be taking on lineman for Willis. Kinda a more fierce yet less experienced Derek Smith...

but , honestly, is Ulbrich an upgrade over Smith?

Ulbrich puts it all on the field, it's just he isn't as gifted as the next guy.

I was thinking about this the other day, if we can get Moore or Grant wins the TED spot, could we try Thomas or Haralson at the ROLB?

I don't really know how good they are in coverage, but Thomas's speed would be good for a rusher?

somehow, I think Ernie Sims will do just fine without Takeo mentoring him

spikes should take a look around. there is a reason teams havent signed him yet. he isnt what he thinks he is. if he was the lb that he once was, a team would have no problem giving him the contract he wants. he will have to settle for the lions, because its the only team that will offer him anything close to what he wants. i say take him off the radar.
