Really, REALLY tough to tell without evaluating them firsthand....
from what I hear Wimbley will, but who knows....

I didnt get to really watch either player that much but I feel like Lawson will be a solid starter but I have a bad feeling about Wimbley.

Personally I say Lawson, I just think his speed and size at the OLB position gives his intangibles a real chance to shine. Possibly fulfill the same role JP played with us but better.

Dont some people see him as being an ILB?

He is a prototypical OLB in the 3-4, but he can shift inside too....I certainly wouldn't mind drafting Carpenter at 22.
i was all over lawson till about a week ago, now i want wimbley.

i feel lawson will. and if he doesnt do well at OLB, we can always keep him at DE. he is a force to be wreckoned with at DE.

But I doubt Lawson could play 3-4 DE, so he would need to be a LB. He is at 233-241 right now, and i doubt he would be able to bulk up to 285+, especially without loosing his speed, which he relies on heavily.

I love Wimbley, but forget it he'll be long gone by 22, so Lawson is hopefully our man!

Would prefer Lawson but if we landed Wimbley I would have no problem with that.

Isnt Wimbley slow?
Wimbley is a high motor guy, the LB were the strength of FSU.

Wimbley won't fall to 22 and Lawson will be a better OLB anyway. SPEED:cop:

True, but he is ridiculously fast anyway. Intriguing thought though.

Wimbley and Lawson both have tremendous upside. I like Lawson's speed and quickness. Wimbley has one of those mean streaks and a nonstop motor. He is just relentless on plays. I give Wimbley the slight edge. I think he will be better all around, but I still think Manny will make a great pass rusher.

I dont know much about Wimbley, but from what you said sounds like he could be a beast.

Hes not skinny, hes lean. Hes 6'6 and athletic. He has a solid build to him but will more than likely add 15 or 20 pounds over the next few months.

He played DE at FSU. Maybe you're thinking of Ernie Sims whos a high energy flying all over the place type player.
