Who will take him in the 2009 draft?
I think he would be a perfect fit on the Bengals.
the Bengals will probably lose Ocho Cinco and maybe TJ and their running game is mediocre.
Maybe the Patriots might take him if they are not sold on Maroney and they get a high pick.
The only other teams that might need him are the Jets, Browns, and Lions.

The patriots don't utilize the 1 RB system. It doesn't matter who they have they'll always be using 2-3 backs consistently. The pats will either take a defensive player (A LB or a DB) or a WR. I'd laugh if they got Crabtree next year to pair with Moss

Probably the Raiders, if Al Davis is still alive.
Teams in NEED of a RB:
Bengals - Nobody worth mentioning carrying the ball for them right now
Jets - Thomas Jones is not a feature RB, and Leon Washington's only good for a huge play every couple weeks or so
Browns - I thought last year was a fluke comeback for Jamal Lewis... either way, he's getting older, and a fast RB that can catch the rock would be huge for them
Seahawks - Julius Jones has been surprisingly good, but I wouldn't rest my future on him
Cardinals - Edgerrin WHO ??
Texans - Steve Slaton looks promising, but not promising enough to pass on Moreno
Bears - Forte looks legit, but the Bears' are in no position to pass on a potentially great offensive player at any position.
Chiefs - Larry Johnson is as good as gone in KC.
Broncos- As good as their offense is, they are just using a serviceable RB in Pittman, nothing special
Teams that COULD USE a RB:
Bills- A Marshawn/Moreno combo could be disgusting
Packers - Ryan Grant has been coming up strong and had some huge games, but >1 year of good ball is not enough to convince me... and he doesn't really provide a big play threat, despite that huge playoff game
Rams - Steven Jackson isn't looking as great as he did a couple years ago when STL's OL was healthy, and his body type doesn't fit his running style. Not that I don't think he can still be a good RB, but another RB threat in Moreno sure adds a dynamic to their offense
Giants - Jacobs' has captured my heart with his physical running style, but Ahmad Bradshaw isn't all that great... put Moreno back there, and they got themselves a true juggernaut offense

as a diehard dawgs fan, knowshon actually scares me a bit for the NFL. he seems to cramp up or get knocked in just about every game.

quick comments in bold. i'm also surprised you left out the Ravens, Lions, Saints, and heck........the 49ers!
I left out the Ravens' because McGahee had a big year last year, and from what I've heard, they really like Ray Rice, so that doesn't leave much room for Moreno.
Lions... I didn't wanna say them and jinx Knowshon Moreno into getting picked by them. He's an exciting player, and I don't wanna see his career get ruined in Detroit. Heck, I'm already pretty pissed that they drafted Kevin Smith last year, who I really like as a RB
Saints... I thought about them, and it does make sense, since Deuce is basically done, and there's nothing special about Pierre Thomas. Thing is, Knowshon is a similar RB to Reggie Bush, although he might be a little better between the tackles
49ers... well, we'll have 3 RB's under contract, but with the way things are shaping up, DeShaun Foster and M-Rob shouldn't really be guaranteed anything. M-Rob maybe, b/c of special teams, but Foster REALLY duds for us this year, I could see us going RB... just not in the 1st round, and with Top 5 pick like Moreno will be.

Teams in NEED of a RB:
...
I'm surprised you left TB off this list. Some of the teams you mentioned aren't in need of a RB so much. TB on the other hand doesn't seem comfortable letting Graham handle a full load, and aren't paying him like a #1. I could see Moreno being a solid partner to Graham there.

So am I... I was thinking of what to write, and then I totally forgot.
Earnest Graham's got heart, but c'mon... he can be upgraded. That, and I don't even know who their back-up is... is it Warrick Dunn ?
Cadilliac William's will NEVER be the RB he was on pace to be; I hate to say, but it's the truth. That's a devastating injury, and any time you deal with soft tissue damage, like the patellar tendon, it's bad news.

they like Rice, as do I. but he still gets less touches then Willis and Mclain. plus Willis has wore out his welcome already just like he did in Buffalo. they guys an ego maniac who finds any reason possible to miss practice. the Ravens have actually given him a hard time because they dont want him on the field. they would love to replace his ego.
Agree on Willis McGahee... he thinks he's waaaaay better than he is.
Didn't he say something stupid along the lines of "I'm the best RB in the NFL" following a 900 yd season ?
i'm pissed they drafted Smith since i regularly attend UCF games now and half my friends went to that school. but i was never really overly impressed with him in college and never thought he would be that great in college. when your giving Rudi touches then you know you have major issues and have plenty of room for another top back. Moreno would be a good fit here. get away from airing it out and its time to turn this team around with a run game.
There is of course a chance K. Smith never turns out to be what I thought he would, but I like his competitiveness, football skill, and natural feel for the game a lot.
As far as Rudi Johnson getting touches... you could look at that a couple different ways:
- Rudi is an already established, good RB in the NFL, despite his departure from CIN. It's not like a chump is taking away those carries
- It's a move made by the Lions... that should say enough. They fired the
only guy whose helped them get off to a respectable start in year, Martz,
and the QB they cut in the off-season looks light years better than Kitna
as of right now.
Marinelli is an *****, and Matt Millen's even stupider than him... I think it's safe to say they've been known for making questionable moves.
i disagree. Moreno is a much more complete runner. Moreno can do it all, inside, outside, it doesn't matter. Bush is a glorified WR. i think Moreno has much more LT in him then Bush.
Moreno does seem to be more of a natural runner between the tackles, but he is FAR from a power RB.
But I don't think it would be a bad thing at all to have Bush/Moreno backfield.
- we're just speculating here. if your rebuttal is top 5 pick then half these teams should be removed right off the bat.
- i agree, i wouldn't exactly say Foster or Robinson stops you from drafting a stud like Moreno.
plus i can dream. i would love Moreno. the kid is special. by far my most favorite back in NCAA right now.
True, agreed.
I've had my eye on Moreno for a long time now, ever since I first saw him get a few carries as a back-up for UG... baller. He's the most electric runner in college football since Adrian Peterson.
He has what my friends and I like to call "That Go".
I wouldn't complain at all if we ended up with him, but do you really think he would see that many touches when we have Gore ?
