It doesn't matter what you do...
But, there is a huge difference between being a fan, and a customer... A fan is usually a customer, but a customer is not a fan...
A fan has a much deeper meaning than a customer... But, fear not when the 9ers win number 6,7, and 8... I willl be able to stand proud because nobody will have any right to call me a bandwagon, which is clearly what you used to be... Well good luck with your rooting for the Redskins!!!:sfhelmet:

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was going to sell MY tickets to opposing team fans because they were the ones who generally paid the most for them. I figured that I would make as much money back for them as I could since I refuse to financially support this team any longer. Now I am getting all this hate mail, telling me that I am a horrible fan.
I have a question for all you that have a problem with what I am doing. If you have a defective item that you purchased from a store, whatever it is, you either exchange it or get your money back if they don't have it in stock or cant be repaired. You don't just sit there and throw more money at it. That is basically what this is. This team is defective and can not be repaired in the near future IN MY OPINION. Because of this, I have decided to try and get money back off the backs of opposing team fans for this season's tickets. Whats so wrong with trying to recoup my money however I can??

You're 43, so you saw this team through all the good times. If you can't stand to see them through the bad times, then you should sell your tickets.

If all the fans were like you there would be no National Football Leauge. You don't just bail out because they're not 5-0. Were 2-3 and we've been in every game buddy. We don't need fans like you at the stick anyways.:sfhelmet:

I understand not wanting opposing fans at the home games, but it'll happen whether you sell your tickets or not.
The people who are sending you hate mail are just flat out crazy though. No one should care that much.

I hear you when you say you don't want to support the team financially. You bought the Season Tickets, and you have the right to do what you want with your tickets (sell them, use them, throw them away, etc...). No one has the right to tell you what to do with them just like no one has the right to tell you what to do with any property that you purchase.
Times are tough (I know they are for me) and I can understand it hurts financially to have to pay for tickets for a team that isn't performing well on the field. So why not sell them and recoup some money back? You would probably make a profit if you sold them to the opposing team's fans, since they are probably more willing to pay higher prices. It makes business sense, especially since ownership continues to put a bad product out on the field, not to mention a stadium that looks like it is about to fall apart.
But...that is one way to look at.
The other is why bother buying those Season Tickets in the first place? If you are not satisified with the product why buy them at all? If I bought a TV and didn't like the quality I would return it to the store and never buy that brand again. I am sure if you gave up your seats there would be some other 49er fan waiting that would love to purchase them.
Now just cause you don't go to 49ers home games it doesn't mean you are not a real fan. People have different reasons for not being to attend. The only thing that irritates me is the number of visting fans that continue to show up at the stick. I am sure once the 49ers start winning again (which I hope is soon) we won't have this problem anymore.
I would NEVER sell my tickets to the oppposing fans, but that is just me. Everyone has a different view and opinion regarding this issue, but eventually it is up to the TICKET HOLDER to do what they want with their ticket.

What makes you think I'll be rooting for another team? Just because I do not support the direction this team is headed, or the ownership who is currently running the team does not mean I will stop rooting for the 49ers. Its kind of like if I dispised the President and Congress running this country. I can't stand the leadership, but I love my Country and would die to protect it.

dont know why people care so much, but im kind of disappointed though. i wish we could find something a little bigger to make a point to the owners and coaches what we [the people that have yet to stop being fans of this d*** team] think....

This is the most rational and fair assessment of what options a STH has in regard to their seats/tickets that I have seen to date.
Rather than PM 49erlawman, I will put my OPINION out there where everyone can see it regarding what 49erlawman posted.
IMO, telling everyone how you were going to handle YOUR SEASON TICKETS was too much drama-seeking info. Do what you want with them, I know I don't care what you do with them and I'm sure plenty of others feel the same way.
What did you expect to happen when you come on a 49er fan-driven message board expressing your intentions to sell to opposing fans...support? As Lou stated, many fans can't attend games for a variety of reasons and your drama-seeking rant didn't make them feel any better about the circumstances.
Handle your tickets as you please.....that is your right. Do it....but STFU about it!

As usual!
Good call "Peter".
The guy had absolutely no need to stand up and tell everyone he's a poor Niner's fan. What was it Mark Twain said about being "thought of as a fool?"
