I don't think so. Arizona is coming off an upset loss, and will be back at home for this one.

Ohio State-Michigan State with early Big 10 implications is the big game around here.

Also watched ESPN today and they said USC is the best one-loss team in terms of sneaking back into the BCS title game.

I'd take 1-loss Florida over 1-loss USC but it's anyone's guess as to how this will all end. We'll probably be cluster ****** with 6 or so 1-loss teams when all is said and done. I'm kinda glad LSU is out of it already so I don't have to get all fired up and worried about the final polls. There are probably going to be a lot of teams with strong cases for a berth that are going to be stuck on the outside looking in.

The MSU coach grew up in my home town, so either way, I don't care.

It's just that OSU wins keep people around here from acting suicidal or something.

Optimus Moo
10-17-2008, 10:39 PM
That's called dedication.

No, it's called stupidity.

I don't mind people venting that night or maybe the next day, but Ohio State football fans are the worst when it comes to crying over a loss for days upon end.

I guess I miss the days of apathy under Cooper because a lot of fans just gave up and said nothing. Now with Tressel, they expect to win every week, and thus the week-long depression if they lose.

Optimus Moo
10-17-2008, 11:11 PM
So you're saying even with OSU's current team, they should expect to lose? Sorry, but futility is not an option.

You missed my entire point.

I'm not saying that fans should expect to lose.

I'm just saying they shouldn't drag around for a week straight acting like their entire life just went bottom-up because Ohio State lost.

I mean, come on! It's a football GAME! Keyword: GAME! And if you're going to let a GAME have that big of an effect on you, then you need mental help!

P.S. Futility only happens in big games, when OSU typically chokes, LOL!

Tommy B must be still coaching or the Clemson team is that bad...

A lot of it stems from our O-Line, they're a mess. Then when the one drive when they were looking half decent, we were moving the ball, and Jamie Harper fumbles! This year is a wash for Clemson, who ever is our next HC they better bring in multiple o-linemen.

Texas Tech losing by 3 at halftime I hope they lose they dont deserve a TOP 10 ranking. Eevn if they get past this one they have to play #16 Kansas then #1 Texas then #8 OK State then #4 Ok they will be unranked by the end of these games.

i'm not in it for the brownie points in this league.. JUST WIN!!

think of how many of these types of wins (and losses!) LSU had last year, and Florida the year before... yet they were the last ones standing because they won a lot more of these types of games than they lost. . it's really that elementary..

Orakpo is a beast. Doesn't really matter that the scout works for us. He'll lilkely have new bosses next year.

hopefully..

and i guess that would make our chances of actually drafting him even better! we're not too bright when it comes to obtaining impact pass rushers despite how many of them flood the first 2 rounds of the draft every year, while it continues to be our biggest problem defensively.

I always get this really nervous feeling like I'm going to be horribly ill when he's in the game. I swear I've never seen a quarterback make as many boneheaded plays as this guy.

Because for some dumb reason these big programs or coaches place a big emphasis on having upper classmen be starters thinking they've somehow EARNED their starting spot by being around so long. I don't get it.

Here's what I saw today:

Although Kansas lost, they put up a great fight, and shouldn't fall too far in the rankings.

Ohio State is back. I know many still have their doubts, but that win today was very convincing.

Hawkeyes laid it on Wisconsin, who have really fallen off the map in the last few weeks.

Alabama, for the second game in a row, was just good enough to pull out a win. This time, though, they seriously deserved to lose. Ole Miss played so much better, down the stretch, it's a real shame Alabama did what they did in the second quarter.

I guess Texas is for real. If you didn't believe it after last weekend, you will now! Missouri looked really out of place, and the final score is actually kinda deceiving, because Missouri was never in it, and it was basically done at the end of the first quarter.

I'm still not sold on Texas Tech.. They play a pure spread offense, and their defense is soft. Texas A&M is not a good team right now, and they gave the Red Raiders all they could handle for the first 80% of that game!

The way it looks to me, is that the National championship game is going to be a rematch of a couple years ago; Texas vs. USC.

basically

i'm not in it for the brownie points in this league.. JUST WIN!!

think of how many of these types of wins (and losses!) LSU had last year, and Florida the year before... yet they were the last ones standing because they won a lot more of these types of games than they lost. . it's really that elementary..

i'll take it..

What you just said is why the SEC is the most entertaining league, there is no "write in" winner for either division in this conference.

Texas vs. Florida BCS Championship!

Any B12/SEC game would be a dream NCG. Offense vs defense, I love it.

**** you Ryan Perrilloux.

Curse as much as you want, I actually think you guys are better off without him.

i know i ain't the only one that just heard this... but Musberger on the Texas game just said

That Texas-Mizzou game was something else, probably about as perfect a first half of college football as has ever been played, considering the quality level of the opponent.

Malcolm Williams' TD catch was huge, the Longhorns need WRs other than Cosby and Shipley to step up and a couple of the young guys had big catches in that game, Buckner had the long TD pass at the end of the game, too and Brandon Collins converted a couple of 3rd downs in the game.

The Texas defense can no longer be criticized for having a young secondary, because they may be young, but they are dang good.

What was most interesting was that Texas played a completely different style of defense against Mizzou than against Oklahoma. They frustrated Bradford by sending 6 guys at him every down, forcing him to make quick decisions and got to him. Against Mizzou they rarely rushed 4, usually just 3, dropped everyone back into coverage to eliminate the long ball and punished them for every catch making 'em earn every yard.

I can't wait to see what they do to Ok St, who is the top rushing team in the Big 12, considering Texas defense gives up less than 50 yards per game on the ground. Limiting Dez Bryant will obviously be the main effort of the defense.

Then the following week they go to Lubbock to play a completely different kind of offense with another dynamic WR, but one not built around the run game. Can't wait to see what Muschamp comes up with for those games.

And watching Muschamp go ballistic as Texas allowed its first rushing TD of the season was great, he didn't care they were still up by 25+, he was mad at the lack of effort, plenty of game film for Will to excoriate his players over.

Meanwhile, this Texas team without a top flight RB prospect is averaging close to 200 yards per game on the ground and has yet to play its most explosive runner, Fozzy Whitaker much at all, due to nagging injuries.

Just imagine if they still had Jamaal Charles and Jermichal Finley on the team.

Me too. Hoenestly I think it will be a shoot out. Texas Tech will survive one more week. Just to get beaten down by Orakpo and THe Longhorns next weekend.
