Did anyone catch the barn burner between The Fighting Frank Solich's and the Owls last night? I had it on, but didn't pay it much attention...but, of course, it's on my DVR  I half way paid attention when I heard Temple coming back from 10-0, but didn't see the game winning TD.
Tomorrow, in what was supposed to be a great match-up, we have both Auburn and West Virginia unranked heading into the game...what a disappointment for both teams. Maybe, since the pressure is off, this will turn out to be an entertaining game...if Auburn can muster up any semblance of an offense.
Friday's game of #13 Boise St at San Jose St is ripe for an upset: only game of the night, national television, something to prove against a conference opponent. I'm actually really looking forward to this one, mainly because I haven't seen SJSt yet this year.
Saturday's Games
#8 Texas Tech @ #19 Kansas - Big12 football has probably been the most entertaining conference all year, and it shouldn't stop with this one, unless Crabtree can't go (which wouldn't totally cripple TT). Lots of offense and two great college QBs. Should be fun.
Wake Forest @ Miami - new school vs old school...although Miami is still pretty new to the ACC.
#4 Oklahoma @ Kansas St - another great QB match-up
Game of the Week
#7 Oklahoma St @ #1 Texas - should be the most entertaining, and possibly hardest fought game of the day. OkSt has the weapons to hang with Texas, and the motivation with it being a 7 vs 1 game. Texas should be able to pull this off at home though.
#9 Georgia @ #11 LSU - SEC game of the week. Two teams that still have their sites set on winning their divisions, and possibly replaying this game in December.
#3 Penn St @ #10 Ohio St - Big 10 game of the week...if that helps
Upset Alert!
#6 USC @ Arizona - should be a lot of offense in this one, Arizona will just need to keep the ball away from SC for long stretches of time. Injuries may come into play for USC as well.

YES! Im taking TT this week even though I hope they lose. Should be a high scoring affair. But TT will get taken down next week VS. The Longhorns. Penn State will prove that they are Rosebowl ready vs.....USC for the NC. Go Arizona! Although it very unlikely.Go Auburn~! If only they had a decent QB they would be NC contenders....
Thanks MAJ.....

I could be going to the Alabama game this week. I don't know if I should shell out $65 for what I belive is going to be a beatdown.

As bad as Tennessee is, I wouldn't be surprised to see them upset Alabama this week. 'Bama's the most overrated program in the nation right now. And I'm not the only who thinks so, look at the line for this, Tennessee is +6.5. Pretty slim line if you ask me. I really see an upset here

That Texas-Ok St. game should be great, in all of the recent games, Ok St. has taken big leads against Texas, including a 21-point 4th quarter lead last season at Stillwater only to lose 38-35. they were up by 35 at the end of the 2nd quarter 3 years ago, too, and up 19 in 2005 when Texas won the NT.
So, what I am trying to say is Texas is comfortable coming from behind against this opponent, which is a bad thing, because this year's team is different, it is #6 in the NATION in rushing, tops in the big 12, has a big threat WR in Dez Bryant and dangerous return man in Cox.
Texas needs to get off to a good start in order to control the temp of this game, also, even though it was against backups, those 28 points in the 2nd half by Mizzou last week has DC will Muschamp all fired up.
should be a great game.

I think it will be a great game Maj. San Jose has a really good defense and has played Boise St. close at home before. If Boise can get past this game they will probably go undefeated. As much as I like FSU they will not beat Boise at Boise with a chance at another BCS game in the last game of the year.

You should be rooting for TT, any loss by KU or Mizzou helps out NU. I think TT wins this game but then reality hits them the following three week. They play UT, oSu, and OU.
The MNC game is in the Orange Bowl this year.

...and the pattern continues, get a nice lead, then do nothing to maintain it. We came out strong on that first drive, and the following drive resulting in 10 points...then the nice KOR by Fannin set up a quick score on two nice plays. All the sudden, I was thinking "wecanhazofense?"...at the same time wondering when we'd sabotage ourselves. Sure enough, we decided football should be a 2 period game, and decided to just mail it in for the second half.
Couple of brights spots: Burns, who can at least use his mobility to make a play when the WRs fail to get open, is the full fledged starter. Fannin is getting more carries, he's pretty much our best weapon. Mike Berry looked solid in his transition to guard. Josh Bynes is going to be a beast for us for the next few years. Antonio Coleman had a pretty decent night vs run, showing he's not just a PRS.
As for UWV, I was really impressed with #11, Sidney Glover, he made every tackle for them, it seemed. Noel Devine is just an amazing athlete. He has a good running style too, stays low, and can cut so quick, then just blow by everyone. He's going to be a nice 2nd punch for somebody in the NFL.

Maj who is # 52 and when is he coming out. he looked like a real NFL pass rushing threat.
And what the hell is up with yall's defense. People can talk all they want about the offense but since when does Auburn give up 200 yards rushing, and that was just to Devine, not telling how many yards Pat White had

#52 is Antonio Coleman, and he's draft eligible (JR).
Arkansas' RB gashed us last game for 176. I don't know what happened to the run defense, other than the guys are probably tired as hell from being on the field so long since we're getting nothing out of the offense to give them a rest.
White only had a couple of decent runs, we did a pretty good job on him. It was all Devine who killed us.

yea i saw he had 207 on 17 carries. thats 10 plus a pop oouch.... On the bright side atleast you will have a new OC at the end of the year.
Tech aint looking that hot either but we might still have a shot at the Acc title game.
Who would you rather have at DT for us Raji 4rm BC of Sen'derrick. i juz wanna know a low budget DT we could get in the 2nd. and who do you predict we could still in the 3rd at QB like a Trent Edwards. I was thinking a Max Hall. or Mizzou's Back up he's got potential

Yeah, he's been tearing it up this season...best senior DT in the country IMO. There's a reason Boston College has the #4 defense in the country, btw Ron Brace is pretty good too (BC's other starting DT).

I'm not quite on the Cutler-is-the-next-big-thing bandwagon yet but IMO he had a lot more going for him coming out of college than Stafford. Stafford has a great cast around him including a RB who can take the pressure off, Cutler was on a terrible team who he carried on his shoulders. How does Stafford behave in a pressure cooker, down 7 points with 1:30 left in the 4th? I haven't see him in one of these situations this year (the Alabama game was out of reach).
Cutler faced a lot of adversity and handled it valiantly, I can't say the same for Stafford. He's simply not battle-tested.

But here's the thing...
I KNOW that OU sucks. Really, I like the 110 more than the football team if you want to boil right down to it. I don't have expectations for OU football. I just watch them and support them.
But Michigan is a big-time D-I school, way above the MAC, and they SUCK! Changed coaches and STILL sucks! Toledo? A MAC school? Michigan had NEVER lost to a MAC school and yet it did. And Toledo is 2-6 to boot!
I'm not really sensitive. You want sensitive, go to the Columbus streets right now and find all the slit wrists. Not me, though. I'll wake up tomorrow and be fine.
I guess I just find it peculiar that you make fun of Ohio State and what not when A.) You couldn't even beat Penn State, and B.) Tressel has OWNED Ann Arbor.
That's not picking and choosing your battles wisely there.

I really think Harrell is underrated, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he became an NFL starter someday. I think he's perfect for Martz's system, and I think Martz would LOVE him.
Yes he did a pretty good job was impressed with his release and field overview

Agreed. He's going to have to go to a team with a coordinator like Martz to be effective. He still needs to work on his footwork in the pocket, and show he can take snaps under center and still read the field while dropping back or off a play fake. But his accuracy and decision making are pretty solid.

That'd be in his best interest.

Cliff Kingsbury. Products of the sytem. I dont think you will ever see Harrell play in the pros.

There's always injuries and what not, but I doubt we see Harrell in the near future.

I would bet that he doesnt even get drafted. His line is what gives him time to throw. Usually all day too. Always 4 and 5 reciever set gives him time to pick and chose. If you see the guy play a whole game...he really isnt immpresive. Every QB that plays there the same. Kingsbury was better QB and didnt even get drafted.

True, I had Kingsbury confused with Klingler.

to close out the wk Tulsa playing UCF on ESPN right now...Tulsa QB D. Johnson could be a late rd QB for some team...FYI
He's better than Paul Smith IMO. Maybe that will get him drafted.

Keep an eye on UCF's LT Patrick Brown. He could be a mid-round gem.

I was really hoping for OSU to win (can't believe I'd ever say that), so we won't have to see a Big 10 team in the NCG. It should be SEC vs Big 12.
NT should be Big 12 v. SEC, agreed.
I think Texas-Florida would be cool as all can be.
And the Rose Bowl can help out by having a traditional Rose Bowl with USC hosting Penn St. Unfortunately, it appears Penn St has the easiest path to the game now, with no conference championship game to trip them up and no real tests remaining on the schedule.
Still, it will be tough for Texas to win out, they still have Tech in Lubbock, go to Lawrence(who wants vengeance for Texas' last visit, VY on 4th and 18 converting) and has to play A&M to end the regular season(having lost 2 straight years to them)before a likely rematch with Mizzou, assuming they both win out.
We will learn a lot about both Texas and Tech on Saturday in Lubbock, I hope Muschamp brings the heat this time, he's been backing off lately, rushing only 4 the past couple games.
