If we can't get a dominant NT like Haynesworth in FA or through the draft, it would be in our best interest to shift to the 4-3. First pick should be NT though, that's the position that we need the most (Unless Singletarry can get Franklin's fat bum to work and play a thousand times harder on every down to become a dominating NT, he has the measurables at the very least).

would take it.
1st Round should be OT or NT or Pass-Rusher
2nd Round should be CB or WR or Pass-Rusher
3rd Round should be NT or OT

No one thinks that we need a QB? Not saying in the 1st round but maybe the 3rd or 4th.

I like Max Hall but we really should take a Flyer on Missuz's back up. He's 6-4 and he's coach Pinkel said he's got the best Arm he's ever seen. It's just he's not really a Spread QB more of a Drop back passer. Kinda like what we are looking for.
We should get Raji outta BC in the second or third and get Monroe in the first. I'm kinda bias but he's the best pure LT thats come out in years and he's more athletic than the other top 2 LT's. Then Staley can good back to RT. I want Arakpo but i dont know when he would be drafted. Slevie is having a down year maybe we can steal him in the second or third.
Plus Curry outta wake could be a huge steal at OLB

We should pick all OL and DTs this draft.
Itll improve the probability that one or 2 of them will actually be good
I say we get a decent receiver and corner through FA.

It is obvious in the first we need to address the offensive/defensive line.
I think we will have a 10-15 pick not allowing us to pick either Eugene Monroe or Michael Oher.
If that is the case the guy I want is Brian Orakpo. The guy is a monster and would contribute right away if we could get him. If we picked him we could certainly go back to the 4-3 but an outside shot he could pick up the roles of playing the 3-4 OLB. But would prefer to keep him at DE for the 4-3.

Wow I'd love for that to happen but I doubt it will.

2nd Round should be CB
Why CB? We've got pretty awesome depth there, and I would hate to see us waste a pick on a CB while our front 7 still suffers.

That may not be the case, I know Oher has a ton of hype, but I don't see him as a lock to go top 10 right now...an OT has to either have great feet or be a guy that will beat you up, Oher isn't really either one. Guy's like Joe Thomas are both.

It's early, but here's what I think would be a good place to start. It should be noted, I think we should consider trading up at some point in this draft. I seem to recall hearing we will get a compensatory 3rd rounder this year... So we'd have 2 3rd round picks.. I like trading up for either another 2nd rounder or even a first rounder. Anyhow, assuming we keep our first 3 picks as they are, here's what and why from me Oct. 24/08:
1) Brian Orakpo- This draft looks pretty weak for pass rushers, and Orakpo is the hands down best! Offensive tackles are quite plentiful this year, so I propose holding off on drafting that until the next round, even though I hate the idea of passing on Monroe or Oher.
2)Jamon Meredith (South Carolina)- Unless a huge run of offensive tackles go in the first round, he should be available for us in the second round. There's a possibility that Duke Robinson or Herman Johnson could be available too, and in which case I think we'd have to go with one of them. But, in any event, Meredith is a solid pick here.
3)BJ Raji (Boston College)- This pick is debatable, very much so. This could be a total reach, especially with his injury history. But, I don't think we will land Haynesworth in Free agency, and we have no REAL bulk in our middle. I have also considered taking a defensive back at this spot, but we have a surplus of DB's right now, and we don't use the ones we have. (I am also assuming that Terrance Cody either won't declare or be around by this point).
3b)*Hakeem Nicks (North Carolina)- Although I'm not a big fan of spending high picks on receivers, we can use more help out wide. If Nicks declares, I think that would be decent value here. I also would say the same about Kenny McKinley.
Depending on what we do in free agency, that will probably throw this plan in the toilet. But, as of right now, I think that's a decent draft.
Remember, I do like trading up. Also remember, a lot of players from Clemson who were thought to be high picks going into the season, are watching their draft stock plummet because of a very disappointing season. Those players could be real steals for us.

WOOOOOOOOOO A CLEMSON FILLED 2ND DAY!!!!!
Truly I think Michael Hamilin will fall further than he should, and he could be a steal.
