It has us taking Andre Smith, Alphonso Smith and Hunter Cantwell.

San Francisco 49ers: Andre Smith, OT, Alabama
Like the Seahawks, the 49ers need a corner, but it's still a bit early to take one. Unfortunately, San Francisco has tons of other needs it can address.

Quarterback will be looked at if Sam Bradford comes out. Bradford would move into Kansas City's slot, allowing Matt Stafford to fall into this position. Mark Sanchez could also be an option, but like Bradford, I don't have him declaring early. We'll see what happens with that.

That leaves the offensive tackle position. San Francisco's line can't pass block to save its life. Andre Smith might be the No. 3 tackle prospect in this class, but he's one of the more talented players in the country. He'll be a huge help to a unit that has already surrendered 29 sacks on the year. Frank Gore will also enjoy running behind him.

San Francisco 49ers: Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest
It's a shame, but Walt Harris has lost a step, and he's definitely not the same player he once was. Harris turns 35 before the start of the 2009 season, so the 49ers will need a new starting corner, especially considering that Shawntae Spencer just tore his ACL.

San Francisco 49ers: Hunter Cantwell, QB, Louisville
Alex Smith's career in San Francisco is finished, so the 49ers will need to bring on a young quarterback. J.T. O'Sullivan's definitely not the long-term answer; apparently, he likes taking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar-esque hook shots on key fourth-down situations late in games.

I would be more than happy with the first couple, but Cantwell? No thanks. I'm ALL FOR drafting a QB in the 2nd or 3rd, but not that guy.

I don't see us taking any 3 of those players.

So the solution is to draft a run blocking OT/G?

Fail.

If CJ Spiller is there in the 3rd round and we don't take him... I am going to hit something, very hard.

Is it just me or have draft sites listed cornerback as our biggest need every year. I'm ok with our current CB...I'd like to see what Tarrell Brown and Reggie Smith can do before I call it a huge need. We need address safety and d-line before we even think about CB.

Jesus, this is one of the dumbest mock drafts i've seen in a long time:

26. Washington Redskins: Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky
There's always a chance Daniel Snyder trades this pick away for Zach Thomas, Derrick Brooks or Kevin Willis, but if he keeps it, chances are he'll upgrade the cornerback position. Though he's playing exceptionally well, Shawn Springs turns 34 a month prior to the 2009 NFL Draft, while Fred Smoot completely embarrassed himself in the opener against the Giants.

91. Washington Redskins: Trevor Canfield, G, Cincinnati
Washington's offensive line is doing a great job right now, but Pete "I Think I'm a Running Back" Kendall and Randy Thomas will be 35 and 33, respectively, by the start of the 2009 NFL season. first off, clever "Dan Snyder trading the pick for an old veteran" joke, like that still makes any remote sense these days...second, the Redskins will not take a corner in the 1st round. the Skins' first round pick will be either an offensive lineman, or more likely a defensive lineman or even a linebacker. Smoot played mediocre against the Giants but has since more than made up for it...Terence Newman embarrassed himself against the Redskins but that doesn't mean the Cowboys are making corner their first priority because of that when they have other needs.

i could definitely see the Redskins taking a guard in the 3rd, but at the same time if the Skins were to pick in the late 1st i could also see them trading back into the 2nd again to get an o-lineman and d-lineman or something, like their draft strategy this past year.

also:
49. Philadelphia Eagles: Kam Chancellor, S, Virginia Tech
The Eagles really need help at both safety positions; Brian Dawkins doesn't have much left in the tank, Quintin Mikell is the epitome of mediocre and mentioning Sean Considine's name solicits groans from Philadelphians. WTF...Chancellor has been garbage at coverage safety for Tech this season, a lot of VT fans are at a loss as to why he's not back to playing the rover position in the box that he did before...if any team, let alone the Eagles, take him as high as the 2nd round to play safety it'll be a laugh.

All Mock Drafts are stupid unless you're about a week before the draft.

I'd rather trade down if that's how the board looked.

All Mock Drafts are stupid unless you're about a week before the draft. completely agreed...i have no idea why people make them, especially this early in the season, or why people pay them any attention past a 2 second look over...teams' needs change and players' stock can drastically rise and fall

Jamon Meredith in the third? If we took Cantwell over him or BJ Raji, I'd smack a *****.

Brandon LaFell at 42 to Miami may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Trading down is probably the best idea anyway.

Not necessarily...there could very well be a running team who'd love to get Andre Smith (Pittsburgh?)

And pay him top 5 money?

We'll see. Right now, the top of this draft isn't looking to exciting. I expect Monroe to be long gone, and Oher will likely go before we pick as well. If we're going to trade out, it'll probably be someone looking for Orakpo or Selvie. Otherwise, it's not worth spending the money on the player we'll have the slot for.

Long gone? Where do you expect us to end up drafting Maj?

It's to early to pay any attention to mock drafts now, alot will change from now to the draft. I would wait to we know the final draft order before reading them.

We'll be picking in the bottom half of the top ten, probably. I have Monroe as the #1 pick to either DET or CIN.
