Daryll Clark... seriously?

Nothing about this kid tells me pro QB.

You could say that about most college QB's. I highly doubt he would leave early, so really nothing to worry about. But he has some talent.

Why the drop for Maclin from 1 to 4 on your list?

He's the top eligible WR IMO.

I can't wait until Dez is eligible, he is hands down the best WR prospect in the NCAA.

I love Maclin, but like Williams for instance I think is a better route runner. Harvin is very well rounded (only problem is he can't stay healthy), and Crabtree is a beast. They're all awesome IMO. Bryant is too, guy is a stud.

Maclin runs good enough routes (which isn't saying he's bad at route running) that his elite speed, and return abilities should put his value higher than the slower, or even more refined guys. He works the middle of the field as well, which should disregard any comparisons to a Ted Ginn or any other soft WR.

I have not seen enough of Williams to know a whole lot. I'll have to watch for him when I get around to looking at my USC games. I'm always a little leery with those USC wide-outs. How has Ausberry looked this year? I loved his physical abilities from last year...but like I said, haven't looked at my USC stuff yet this year...other than the loss to OrSt.

Yeah, Maclin isn't a bad route runner, I'm just VERY impressed with Williams. He was good as a Freshman at Arkansas, and he looks even better this year. He's very smooth in and out of his breaks, has good hands, body control and very good speed. If he was inclined to leave early I think he would surprise a lot of people. Ausberry really doesn't play much. Turner, Williams and Ronald Johnson get most of the PT at WR, and Hazelton gets a bit too. Ronald Johnson and Williams have mostly been the most impressive for SC.

Hobbes2d
10-29-2008, 07:33 PM
Todd Boeckman is a great pro prospect. He throws a great deep ball, is an excellent leader, very accurate and keeps his passes low and not high and wobbly.

Fausto is a fighter. I'd like to see him move to WR or safety. The problem with him is that he doesn't fit the system. The team doesn't use his sinker... I mean ability to throw a skinny post, well enough.

You are a complete dumbass if you find any of this true.

Obviously, I knew you were joking.

How the hell does he get more PT than Ausberry or Hazelton? That kid is a bum. Average hands, and awful route runner.

Yeah, I was just making sure since he wasn't in red.

Greene's pretty good; there's a little bit of Steven Jackson in him from what I've seen. Runs very hard, decent quickness. I'd definitely suggest checking him out.

He just doesn't run very many of them which is what makes me skeptical. It's hard to judge what his route running is really like.

I could have swore I saw him at LT in a game recently (might have been the USC game). I have him as a RT prospect, but it's interesting to note he might be capable of playing either.

A couple of names from a Texas homer you might want to look into which are not on your list.

OT-Adam Ulatoski
LB--Sergio Kindle
DT--Roy Miller

the first 2 should probably be on your list somewhere.

The first two are Juniors and I don't expect either one to come out this year. I was impressed with Ulatoski vs Missouri. Kindle's one of the better Junior LB's in the country. Miller I have pegged in the mid 2nd day, hence he isn't listed.

QB:

1. Mark Sanchez USC Jr* :banghead:
(no way that he is the top prospect)

4. Tim Tebow Florida Jr*
(doesn't even deserve to be listed)

7. Juice Williams Illinois Jr*
(same as Tebow)

RB:

4. Javon Ringer Michigan State
(he is a stud)

WR:
1. Michael Crabtree Texas Tech RSoph*
(Crabtree belongs at #1, you are right)

12. Derrick Williams Penn State
(he's so overrated and I am a PSU fan, you made the right call putting him this far down)

OT:

3. Jason Smith Baylor
(I'm high on him too)
4. Michael Oher Ole Miss :banghead:
(he's the top prospect in my opinion, doesn't deserve to be behind the Smith's)

6. Phil Loadholt Oklahoma
(fat and slow for a tackle? might be fat and slow for a guard...he sucks)

Defense:

DE:

3. Tyson Jackson LSU
(good to see the big man ranked higher)

7. Maurice Evans Penn State Jr*
(overrated athlete, looks good but sucks on and off the field)

DT:

No B.J. Raji?

OLB:
1. Aaron Curry Wake Forest :)
(he is number one, glad you agree)

7. Brian Cushing USC
(so many people have him 1 or 2, glad you don't see it either)

ILB:
1. Brandon Spikes Florida Jr*
(top MLB prospect in my opinion too...at this point)

CB:
1. Vontae Davis Illinois Jr* :banghead:
(really?...come on...)

Just picked a few I liked and disliked.

I find it odd that you have Max Hall from BYU ranked #3, and don't have Harrell on the list at all. Presuming you don't have Harrell on there because he is a system/spread QB, why is Max Hall ranked so high when the BYU offense is the same offense?

Because he's a RS Soph? And seeing as he's less than a year removed from a major knee injury, and a 2 sport star at Stanford, I don't think there's any reason to list him at this time.

I don't know what Hobbes' answer is, but the difference I've seen between the two is Hall actually looks like a Pro QB. Harrell is lazy with his footwork, hangs onto the ball way too long, and and has all world WRs to throw to. Collie and Pitta are solid, but no where near what Harrell is throwing to. Hall has more zip on his passes. Gets the ball out sooner. And shows mental toughness when things don't go right.

Pretty much what I would have said. I don't really care about the talent around either of them. Just comparing the two, Hall is much more of an NFL prospect.

I'm wondering that as well, lol, I played against that kid in highschool. Dang tall dude with good hops, really deceptive speed. He ran kinda lazy back then without the ball. But once he had it in his hands, he was tough to bring down and pretty **** fast. (Especially since I was only 165 lbs.) I've only seen him play a few times on USC since then.

If you were the decision-maker in the 49er draft room and you chose Tim Tebow over Colt Mccoy, i would have to assassinate you. But first, i would have intercourse with everyone you love and force you to watch.

But i do love the fact that Sanchez is being completely ignored since USC lost to Oregon State. Would be a very nice jem if he declared and fell to the niners. I don't have him #1, but definitely and underrated qb now that the spotlight isn't on him.

McCoy lol. Tebow can be a good QB if he's given a year or two to sit and develop his mechanics. He has all the intangibles to be a franchise QB, and the physical skills. He just will need time to get better and should not play right away.

I haven't seen Greene yet, but he sounds kind of like Michael Turner. Big guy, with good speed, who's very productive (at least this year).
