This might have been posted in another Card thread but I didn't bother looking and wanted to start a thread. Talk about locker room talk for the NINERS. This better be up on the wall heading out to the field.

Cardinals wanted Niners for opener
Did the NFL send the 49ers to the Arizona Cardinals as a housewarming gift for their new stadium? So says profootballtalk.com, quoting unnamed league sources.
According to the Web site, the Cardinals requested that the 49ers be the guest for their first regular-season game in their new palace, Sunday in Glendale, Ariz. They want to christen the place with a win, and figure the 49ers will be polite guests.
In an e-mail, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said teams give the league a "wish list" each year, but the league ultimately determines the schedule. He also said the wish list is confidential. Aiello additionally denied that the home opener against the Niners was payback to
the Cardinals for giving up a home game last year and facing the 49ers in Mexico City.
Spokesman Mark Dalton of the Cardinals said he did not know if the team requested a specific opponent. He said they are simply happy to open at home. In 18 previous seasons in the desert, the Cardinals have always opened on the road.
