You know,

I am sick and **** tired of hearing about this Dallas drama. I can only blame bad writers; people who need to create stories because the news broadcasting business is too competitive. There are too many hands in the pot and as a result we are force fed outright lies and false information.

I read the NFL.com headlines and it makes me angry, the headlines read "Drama, what drama?". It's smug, it's as if the writers think we the fans think there is drama and they are conveying a message that they knew all along there wasn't drama. They (writers) are the ones that reported this BS to begin with!

How about instead of a smug article they publically apologize to the Dallas Cowboys fans for their blatant attempt at false journalism? Are they just passing out journalism degrees to any ***** not smart enough for a real job these days?

I also love the ticker on ESPN news last night. It showed stats for all NFL teams but when it was on the Cowboys ticker it showed Witten: (target 9, caught 5) and Owens: target 10 caught 4. I have never seen this crap before; again media is trying to turn the NFL into some drama ridden reality TV special.

It's getting out of hand.

A team in the playoff hunt has it's star players arguing which could effect the upcoming games (does Romo force passes to TO, shy away from Witten). Yeah, i have no idea why they would cover that.

I'll admit that i haven't really kept up with the story. So who is claiming it is fake?

I understand that I probably wear everyone down with my weekly ESPN rants, but this is what I have been talking about!

ESPN is no longer about covering sports like back in the 1980's and 1990's, but really about entertainment and drama. This organization creates stories first, covers legitimate stories second.

Like with the Yankees getting 90% of it's baseball coverage win or lose, the Cowboys bring the type of drama ESPN is looking for, and don't be surprised if the Cowboys don't get a weekly series soon, just like the Yankees have.

Sports journalism is dying. Not that many good places left to get our news.

What "legitimate" football story would you have prefered they covered instead of what happened in Dallas?

But it can be argued that the reports are false.

That's the point of my thread, if there is NO story then DON'T create one.

You are correct...there is no proof that T.O. has ever done this in his career....he never has dissed his QB in S.F. or Philly or now in Dallas...everyone who reported all these things are lying...its all a conspiracy perpetrated by Mike Nolan, Donovan McNabb, Jeff Garcia et al because they have NOTHING else to do but attack T.O.....poor T.O. misunderstood, AGAIN...when will the ENTIRE world learn that he is not a jerk, he is not a cancer for any team that he plays for....Cries and moans about not getting the ball and then goes out on national t.v. and DROPS the first ball thrown to him...

This is what made the NFL become what it is today. Thanks to the media for creating interesting story. To get casual fans to watch the game, we gotta put some drama into the game. People watch to see how many times Romo passes to T.O and how many times T.O say hi to Witten. I mean it's all drama and people like drama. I'm not saying I'm a casual fan. I watch football no matter what because I love football. But to people who just watch it for the drama, that is what gets the juice pumpin and money rolling. So stop being a hypocrite because I know most of you guys love drama in sports. It makes it more interesting to watch. You know what I hate the most in sports? Purist. They don't like to have fun. I listen to sports radio 24/7 and watch sports on tv a lot. I love sports. And I also found out that there are a lot of stupid PC (political correctness) in sports that makes me want to barf. I rather watch an interview with somebody who has something to say. You don't have to agree with him/her but atleast they don't use PC crap to waste our time. "its one game at a time" "I will do whatever it takes to win" "the other guy is a great player. I love playing with him." STFU!! I want some real talk. That's why I love Charles Barkley. At times i don't agree in what he say but he speaks his mind and i like that.

What "legitimate" football story would you have prefered they covered instead of what happened in Dallas?Hell, I don't know?

Maybe do a feature on Atlanta, Tennessee or Miami?

They haven't touched those stories all year, but then again that would take some "Real" journalistic skills, and that isn't ESPN's strong point!

Cram more Yankees, Red Sox, Favre, Cowboys, Patriots, McNabb, T.O., Romo, Yankees, Jeter, A-rod and Yankees stories down our throats!!!!!

Screw all the "professional" analysts and broadcasters. They're all biased and don't know what they're talking about 70% of the time.

Could be but the remaining 30 % is all true when it comes to Dallas Cowboy football....amazing how all the
Cowboy loves yell and scream for their America's Team when things go good....but talk about some jerk who has been a cancer all his career causing problems with their beloved team and all of a sudden they are all lies, perpetrated by the Fourth Estate.....

Hell, I don't know?

So you are complaining for the sake of complaining? Nothing else happened during the week that had a major impact on the upcoming games. So why shouldn't they talk about Dallas? Doing a piece on the falcons, a team that already has been talked about to death (one year ago the team was in shambles after vick...blah blah blah), would just cause people to turn the channel.

I'm pretty sure TO was lying, something probably happened. But I'm pretty sure it was minor and Werder turned it into a bigger story than it really was, something ESPN likes to do with any TO flavored drama.

There are plenty of other threads to cry about T.O. Please do not cry in mine.

...or what????....you going to go on the internet and cry and moan like that one guy did when britney spears was doing her thing????...'LEAVE T.O. ALONE!!!, HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG!!!!...THEY ALL LIES"....I can cry if I want, just like you did....you come on a 49er message board expecting to find some soulful Cowboy fans to agree with your assessment...we really don't care about T.O. or the Cowboys here, so I suggest you go to a Cowboy forum and find thousands that will agree with you....thank you very much....bye...

The problem is that there are so many football sites and there is pressure to constantly update them. This is why things get exaggerated and why alot of fluff articles are written. Guys used to do so much worse 20 years ago and nobody ever thought much of it then.
