I just read that, so sad to hear that happened. One of the best all-around players when football was really REALLY a tough game. But atleast he lived to good ripe age of 94. My thoughts are with the family. R.I.P.

the only officially retired number by the Redskins, in 1943 he led the league in passing yardage, punting average, and interceptions caught. against Detroit that season he threw for 4 TDs and caught 4 TDs at safety. in 1945 he had a 70.33 completion percentage, still second best all time today.

it's crazy how far ahead of everyone else he was in the game.

I wish more people knew how awesome this guy was. Not only was he still BAD A*S at 90 (he was throwing around obsentities, talking about playing football and loving it even today), but he was even more bad A*S in his playing days! If he was playing today, he'd easily be a top 3 QB in the league. This guy was just awesome.
